Big motor anything can fly

Show OFF your bare foam!

I love to see other peoples(mine as well) scratch built foam planes. Please share you progress and and best of all pictures.

As for mine...
I am building a 70% scale Gemini V2. It is not the greatest but... it should fly.

Just to take these pictures i had to fight my way into my shop(giant wolf spiders), other than that it is great. Mine is almost all made out of plywood, insulation foam, hot glue, a tiny bit of epoxy, and 3d printed parts.

As you can see from the bolts i have a removable side panel so i can route wires and such. The payload bay is directly below the wings as not to effect balance much.

I know there's a 'Show off your naked wood!' in the Balsa Builders forum, naked foam ?

OK here's some naked Depron, (viewers must be 16 years old or older as there may be glimpses of some balsa as well )

Ray.

Ray, look at the ribs on those girls! You need to plump them up to make them more seductive!

Don't do that. My gemini looks like a piece of crap. And it has taken me like a week to do. The most time i have ever spent on an airplane build.

Sorry, but only the fuselage hasn't been papered!

Wing is covered with brown $ Store paper, tail & control surfaces are blank newspaper; all are glued on & hardened with 50/50 mix of Titebond II & water.

Still need to sand the fuse nose and make the battery hatch. To help with fitting the turtledeck & cockpit, I made a short, dummy wing center-section and let that get sanded to the overall fuse shape.

Target is 26-28 oz. with a 3S1500, Turnigy 1400 Kv motor. Area is ~360 in. sq. Still trying to decide on a color scheme!
