NZ DS Fest 2019
Ok you guys are thinking and planning Weldon DS fest.
For me it's way above my ability, I need a few more years of DS practice before sites like Weldon. So I'd like to go back to NZ for some slower DS action. Date wise mid February will be cheaper flights and suits work better. Alex I know you are saving your holiday time for Weldon, so is there a week in February that's suit you to join us after work? It's a must that you and other locals can get some time DSing with us. For us fly ins I'm thinking get there Thursday or Friday for a good time with locals Saturday, Sunday. A quieter time during the week. Then another good weekend session with the locals and fly out Monday or Tuesday. My Mad American driver is keen, just need a couple more to fill up the first batch. Lol NZ is probably harder to learn ds than weldon. Weldon is such a nice easy site will a great landing area. Just FYI. Scott will agree I'm sure haha. Is where he learnt to DS.
I'm sure I'll be able to join you at times no matter when you decide to come here |

I am working towards making another NZ trip this winter. Probably the earlier in February the better for me. 2 weekends and a full week would be sweet.

I have just started a new job and have already asked for a couple of weeks off over Christmas for family stuff. There is no chance that I can get time off in Feb as well

I'm interested. Was thinking about going on the Weldon 2019 trip, but I suspect that there'll be so many people, there'll be a queue waiting to fly, especially when on the bigger days! For the cost of going there (I did, back in 2010), you need to get lots of flying time to make it worthwhile.
Therefore, I quick trip across the ditch is a great alternative. February would likely work too, though I'd want to be certain that there will be good wind at that time of the year. KahnX (Melbourne) |
