I am looking forward to this one! I cannot wait for the release. I am curious to see what gear ( landing gear, servos, Motor/ fan combo) did they use.

You might want to wait for your e-mail, I'm guessing that there could be a discount code .

I was More impressed by short take off and landing run in videos.
Although, I noted a Serious WIND component during the Shoot !

Seriously tempted , once again !

Are there any ideas for a decent power setup?

I think the recommended 6S setup (Turnigy 3553-1800 + Changesun 90mm 12-blade EDF) is a bit on the weak side for a 5kg bird?!
The estimated thrust should be around 2.6-2.8kg which means a weight to thrust ratio of less than 1 : 0.6.

Seems to fly with good authority in the video. I'd think you can make other fan/motor combos fit with ease, but there's not much room for bigger batteries:

In this picture it has what looks like a Schubeler fan:

Yes, in the video it looks good, but I doubt that this is the Turnigy+CS setup.
I didn't realize it, but yes, it's a Schuebeler EDF unit, they also show it in the manual.

Well...I guess that the Schuebeler + HET outperforms the TGY/CS unit.

Personally I would like to stay at 6S.
I think the Changesun EDF isn't bad, but which motor would suit to reach about 3,5kg thrust?

Changesun 90 mm units are known to explode at high power (some are weaker than others), even as low as 2400 W, so not sure I would recommend risking that fan with more power.

Jetfan is a good choice, and EffluxRC can find the right motor for you: https://www.effluxrc.com/Jetfan-90mm...t-JF-90EDF.htm

Check the EDF forums for working combos: https://www.rcgroups.com/large-edf-jets-858/
