New Product

Evolution3d DJI Mavic 2 Crystalsky Bracket.

Last year the guys over at Evolution3d sent me over there DJI Crystalsky mount for the Mavic Pro and I have been using this exclusively since, its had a dramatic amount of use and has been my fist choice with both the Mavic Pro and Mavic Air.

They have now released a new updated design for the Mavic 2 as well as some new adapters for the Crystalsky too.

The New Bracket

Evolution3D specialise in 3D printed parts they design in house them selves and having used the last bracket for well over a year I can honestly say the print quality is 1st class, these brackets are extremely well made, every part of there kits that's not metal is printed and it's all solid and well designed, with the new bracket they have moved to a more traditional design with it fitting in the arms but it still retains one of its best features and thats the ability to fix the Crystalsky both on top of the RC or above it depending on preference, the kit consists of main frame that fits into the arms

This has the direct fitting for mounding their bracket so you have the above RC position

They also include an extended bracket that attaches via a thumb screw and wraps around the back to give you the above RC position options too.

Crystalsky Fitting

Included with the kit is the standard mounting plate that screws to the bottom of the CrystalSky with 2 supplied screws, while this is solid it does pose an issue for those of us that use a combination of products with the original DJI Quick Release system

As a result of this they have also made a push fit friction bracket, this allows you to fit the Crystalsky to the bracket with the DJI Mounting plate fitted.

Its worth me explaining that this is push fit so the Crystalsky slots onto this new bracket by simply pushing on, I have played with this a lot over the last week and im more than happy with how it holds, you can even hold it upside down and shake it and it still holds in place, for those who are worries there is a tether loop but tbh I don’t feel its necessary.

Overall I think this is a great update to the bracket, my only real complaint of the original was it was a bit of a pain to cary in a bag, this new design resolves that completely, what I really like about both brackets is it puts the CrystalSky at the top above the RC or sticks depending on your choice, it clears the antennas nicely and can be used with both the 5.5” and 7.85”models.

The Friction mount is a welcome addition for those who do swap between the DJI bracket and this, I would suggest making up your own mine of you need to add tether or not but im not worried my self.

If you’re looking for a Crystalsky mount that fits the Mavic Pro, Mavic Air, Spark and Mavic 2 Remote this is well worth a look.

Can be ordered on
