Yeah - I couldn't resist it for $160 so I ordered a new one - almost 1 year to the day after the first one :-)

Of course this is after the DX8e radio cost me $1300 last weekend ($700 in balsa 3D planes, $600 for a new iX12) oh well, it's only money.

Throw you're DX8e or DX6e in the trash now and save yourself the frustration of planes just falling out of the sky due to the whopping 3.2mW of transmit power.

Damn, only 160 bucks! Right down there in the UMX price-range! Think I need one in my hangar, to compliment my UMX version. Used to have a .40-size balsa version, powered by an OS .46 SF-P. Also built a Sig .40-size Smith Miniplane & put an OS .46 SF-P in it - which handled very similar to the .40-size S1S Pitts.

Wonder if this one has enough grunt to emulate the full-scale 350 HP Pitts I went up in back in the '80s? That one had over a 3:1 thrust-to-weight. Was crazy being able to do a rolling tail-slide, then go balls-to-the-wall & accelerate vertically to Vne - while doing a rolling vertical climb!

Yep, I told him not to try to fly that plane there and he went for it anyway

Joel:

It has a lot of power on 4S, but handles nothing like the UMX Pitts:

E-flite Pitts S-1S RC Biplane Maiden Flight On 4S Scorpion 1800 Lipo (4 min 25 sec)

E-flite Pitts S-1S RC Biplane Flight Off Grass With 4S Scorpion 1800 (4 min 3 sec)

It is not forgiving, but still a ton of fun!

did anyone try to use the ailerons as flaps to make it a little bit slower for landing?
I just ordered mine :-)

Had a clevis fail and plane went full speed into a tree. Thought is was a total loss but surprised how little damage there was.; Tough bird. I understand they are targeting a price point but unfortunate item to save $.50.

Found some paint that was a perfect match.

Don't need it. She lands quite well without and flies where you point her with no squirrelly stuff

It is just squirrelly on the ground.....if it is asphalt anyway. Grass it seems to handle very well.
