Here's a bunch of takeoffs and landings while getting the elevator/flap mixing dialed in. I ended up using 12% up elevator mixing with my Horus radio. Lands like a butterfly with sore feet.

One concern with a Stuka is the highly tapered wing causing tip stall issues. This plane absolutely doesn't have that problem. Lots of washout built into the wing.

Haven't seen the small one. These wings slide onto aluminum tubes...four aluminum brackets slide into the fuselage and are locked with small bolts. If the bolts come loose the wings will likely come off in flight. I'm trying to think of a better way.

Well, the little Nazi came today. With a bit of work he might do. Not all pilots were giants back in the day.

Same way as the smaller Stuka except there are only 2 bolts. If i had more room inside i would use some nylon wing bolts as well from the inside of the fuse to the wing. |

Check you landing gear strut screws!
When I assembled the plane I looked at how the LG struts were installed and checked the tightness of all 6-8 set screws on each gear. I should have removed the screws and reinstalled with Locktite. Today, one of the struts fell out while in flight. I landed OK with only minor damage to the left landing gear fairing. |

Not too bad damage for landing a 24 lb model on nothing but a plastic fairing! I did say that this plane lands really easy and smooth.

Battle damage repaired and ready for another mission over the Eastern Front!
BTW, Tower Hobby kind of pissed me off this week. They sent me an email asking for a review of the Stuka. I put together a detailed review with pictures of my plane and a video of me flying it. Tower rejected the review some reason that I can't imagine. So much for trying to promote their product. |

Here you can see that the set screws had been tight enough to bite into the mounting strut. I replace the gear with plenty of locktite so hopefully this won't happen again. The screws in the other gear were also loose.
