Phoenix Model Stuka Ju 87 94.4"

I've always liked the looks of the Stuka and finally found one that caught my attention. Tower is now selling this one... https://www.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHAUK&P=0

With the free shipping and a $90 member discount how could I resist?

This should make a nice winter project.

I just received mine yesterday. Great looking plane and it will make a perfect, larger replacement for my ESM that has been flown hard for 10 years now.

What are you using for power? I have an EME 55 that's just laying around so I figured that would be a cheap and easy solution for now.

A "B" model with BK 3.7 cannons.... I don't think so. Playing pretty fast and loose with the scale.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Oh well. I stopped caring about that super scale stuff a long time ago.

I wonder if a Ziroli G model cowl would fit this plane

I too am not so picky about scale fidelity. It looks like a Stuka to me! As long as it flys good I will be satisfied. I guess leaving off the cannons makes it more scale?

The length of the Ziroli fuselage is very close to this aircraft. (77" vs 76") Ziroli lists the dimension of the cowl on their website. If you really wanted to know if it will fit I'm sure one of us can measure our cowl and let you know.

Looks like the free shipping offer is gone. Glad I jumped in when I did.

Is the covering stick on or shrink type? wheel pants FG or plastic?

It's definitely not a Solartex type fabric like what ESM used. It's a flat Monokote type covering.

I haven't dug into the box deep enough to get to the wheel pants yet.

I started digging into the box today. The covering is some sort of preprinted plastic film. It is perfect...not a wrinkle to be seen.

Here is something I've not seen before. The servo hatches are plastic with the servo mounts molded in. Very easy to install the servos as long as you are using a standard size servo.

However, I did have one small issue. The servos I'm using fit right up to the edge of the hatch causing a gap when fitting the hatch to the wing. A little careful Dremel work solved that one.

I finished installing the servos in the left wing. I made a connection harness so that I only have to make one connection when plugging the wing into the fuselage.
