I have never tested one personally, but these should be no different than any satellite receiver.

I bound one and plugged in to X10. Seems up to CH 10 was working. Not sure what I have all outputs set to so can't say about any X-Plus CH's function.

So I have been playing with my new X10+ module for 2 days now.
Great little unit but there is something I just cant figure out.

I tested all output and they work up to channel 11 with the SPM4649T.
Any channel above that dont seem to be interpreted.

Tx is DX18 with X-Plus enable to get all 18 channels active.
X-Plus monitor on Tx shows the added channel to work but not on the X10+.
SPM4649T is supposed to be a 20 channels Rx.
Also, had to put the X10+ in Spektrum satellite mode for it to work.
SRXL was not working.

Worst case I think that 11 channels will be ok for my project but it would be sad not to have full capabilities.

On a different subject, is it normal that the USB Serial link dont allow to program all features of the X10+?
I had to program it with the button instead of my PC for the Rx type.

I have never actually looked at a DX18, so I am not sure how the extended protocol works. The SRXL support is for Multiplex receivers so it likely won't work with the Spektrum version of it. I will look for a DX18 so I can determine the packet output. The X10+ only officially supports the standard satellite reciever protocol.

The Rx type is only programmable with the button. This is due to using the standard XDP software (used for receivers, which don't have a "type" option).

Ok, so done more digging and testing.

Looked at the remote receiver communication protocol document from Spektrum.
In there, they talk about 12 channel identification (from 0 to 11).
So maybe that protocol is not allowing the full 20 channels that the SPM4649T can supposedly deliver.
I think this protocol is the one the receiver ship with per default.
Apparently that can be changed to SRXL with the programming cable. Not equipped to test that however.

So armed with this new knowledge, I tested the X10+ up to channel 12 and it works.
Tried CH13 and the servo was buzzing strangely.

So I am happy for now because I dont think I will need more than 12 channels for my project.

However it would be nice to understand why we can not get the 16 channels the X10+ can deliver.

The X10+ does not support the Spektrum's version of SRXL at all. So, it's not surprising you can't use beyond channel 12.

Still, the 4649T coupled to the X10+ make for a good inexpensive 12 channels Rx for use with flight controlers working with Spektrum sats.

A winning combination IMHO.
