Camera w/OSD
I have mounted the recommended Blade Inductrix BL Camera w/OSD on my Switch Hovercraft. It took some trimming of the canopy because the wire is so short and I had to mount it on the fan shrouds. No way to use the 3 mounting holes on the hovercraft. Video quality is good and OSD does tell me bat voltage and elapsed time, so I expect to treat my batteries better. I mounted a heat sink on the VTx chip that gets very hot otherwise.
But how do I change channels? The literature says "Change your video channel directly from the OSD, even on the stock MLP4 transmitter." Any one know how to do this? Or I would be OK changing channels by pushing buttons on the VTx but can't find any. |

Thanks for the link and info.
I understand the Cam was designed for a different quad but I was informed it was the one to use if I wanted OSD, which is what the FliteTest site said was an option. The OSD works, so I am good. I do not need to change channels now but want to know how in case I need to in the future. Later when I have some time I will set up my Taranis Tx with its Spectrum module and see if I can use it to follow the BL manual instructions. Can't manage it with the included stock MLP4 transmitter so far. I will contact Horizon during the week to see what they have to say and post results when I have them. |

After a long and frustrating chat with Horizon the answer I got was "get another Tx"! I am not at all convinced that would work with the Hovercraft FC.
Directly from Horizon website https://www.horizonhobby.com/inductr...spot2_01282019 "Optional FPV Camera Dedicated mounting position on the front of the hovercraft and simple plug on the board is ready to host the optional FPV camera with On Screen Display. Vital data such as battery voltage, video frequency and channel, run time, and call sign displayed right on your screen. Change your video channel directly from the OSD, even on the stock MLP4 transmitter. From a Spektrum Gen.2 transmitter, channel and frequency can be selected in the video transmitter menu." The camera they say is optional does not exist as described. |

With the X-Vert the module needed a mod to correctly work throttle cut at a very specific microsecond output ... the update also helped me fix arming for my Switch with OTX. Moral of the story is that you may have to play around with travel ranges to get it to work, if it doesn't work easily for you. Word of warning ... depending on how the module config is set, what you see in OTX is what is going into the module ... but with scaling on the module may alter the output to a different microsecond value. |

Admittedly there is much I do not know about this subject but I do know it does not do what they say and the OSD camera they claim is an option does not exist. Making false claims for a product is not acceptable. Mistakes happen but need to be corrected. |

Ah, thought you'd mentioned an OTX TX earlier so was thinking of that. Would have to look if the BL version comes with the LP TX, but if it does, seems it would work.
Also, the DR1 comes with the LP TX, so same thing ... maybe see if that manual has any different instruction for it. From memory, same camera is recommended for that ... so it should work unless there is any kind of special connection or RX programming required for it to work . It uses a 3 wire lead, which I suspect is info coming off the RX from GPS, mode, etc. Plus, you may get a diff answer with a different CS rep .... |

I wonder if I could use one of my other OSD cams that has 4-wire connect and a button on the cam for changing channels. Probably yes since the socket on the Switch is 4 pin. Just need to find out which pins do what on the 4 pin video socket on the Switch.
Since the OSD is working and I don't currently have a channel conflict I am stepping back from trying to change channels with my current setup. I'll post if I come up with a solution. Thanks for your help |

Taranis, DM8 Module arming problem
I have a Taranis Plus with a Spektrum DM8 (DSM2) module I want to use to fly the Switch as a quad and set up a buddy box to teach my grand daughter. I got an otx file from Scott Page which seems to work except I can not arm. Binds fine. Sticks can cause change from hovercraft to quad and back. All 3 quad modes are available. But can't arm. I asked on the Taranis How To thread ( conversation starts here) and got some help but am still unable to arm.
I am stuck. Suggestions please. Thank you. |

TC may need to be at exactly -130% just before trying to arm.
I use a MPM and after I updated it for this problem I got it to work: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ostcount=14057 |

I’m late to the party but I just got my Blade Inductrix Switch Hovercraft. New Old Stock. Wow! This thing is a blast on my smooth hardwood flooring. I’m so happy with it I bought another one off eBay as backup. Home run. This thing is cool.
