Killer Looking Fiberglass Jet

The New Tortuga from SAB Avio is an awesome looking and performing pusher Jet. This thing is made from fiberglass and is very rigid and strong so that it can reach high speeds easily. It comes painted with a killer looking trim scheme that is highly visible, which is a good thing at high speeds. The control horns are pre-installed and it will only take around 2 hours to finish the assembly and install your electronics to get it ready to fly.

They recommend a 28mm to 36mm sized motor around 2200kv and a 6S battery. It will need a 100-120A ESC and a 5x5 prop. This is a beast of a prop jet with functional canards and it just looks amazing. The price is listed at $349 at AeroPanda with delivery slated for mid September.

Those are two of the best heli pilots in the world.

Wonder what the top speed on that thing is. Maybe someone can doppler it.

I am a RC boat/truck/quad guy and have a trainer plane that is tricky to fly at times...I have no idea how anyone can fly something going that fast!! I would have a heart attack. It seems that it gets away from your sight so fast I don't see how you keep orientation?

When flying fast, I really am just directing a dot. Not really looking for aircraft orientation per say, just see what direction it is moving and make small adjustments.

Gotcha. I meant orientation as in which was was facing up haha! I guess at those speeds it's just a different kind of flying.

I thought about using my Funjet as a plug to make a mold for a fiberglass version but decided it was too much work. It's good to see someone else had a similar idea, that's pretty awesome especially with the canards. I bet the Funjet would be a great flyer with canards. I'd like to see the twin prop version make a comeback!
