Fan Fold Foam

I've been out of the r/c foamy loop for several years. Did a lot of building with the dow blue fan fold foam. Is it still available, if so where.

Thanks, Rick.

You can check whether you have an Allied Building Products in driving distance. They are nation wide and carry all the Dow products. Or you can check out modelplanefoam.com

FFF a thing of the past. MPF the same thing, only white, flat and no skin.

In the Midwest Menards still has Pink Fan fold foam.

If A Pink Plane is what you actually want.

I've converted to www.modelairplanefoam,com. or is it www.modelplanefoam.com

Lowes of Home Depot around here in North Carolina sells green stuff that is similar - although more brittle.

Not sure if the Dow Protection Board III (FFF) is a discontinued product or if home Depot simply does not carry at some or all stores. It no longer comes up in a product search on the Home Depot pages. It looks like it has been replaced by this Owen Cornings product:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Owens-Co...21UM/100320301

They say that it is in stock at my local store, maybe I'll drop by and look at the stuff. I don't need any of it, I still have most or all of a lifetime supply of FFF as we knew it down in the basement...

Attached is the MSDS for FFF, it may help you find it or order it somewhere...

Well it’s not like FFF goes bad ( in storage) …A friend offered me a whole bundle of Blucor to continue my building activities …I still build for others ...

Yes, as long as you keep it out of sunlight. I learned this the hard way.

I agree. It will fly, but looks like $h!t and is difficult to build with! JMO

Have any of you gys read Keith SParks "Building With Foam?"
Excellent references on building light weight strong foam airplanes.

He also has several foam kits out now.
Using his methods I am going to start ona 96 inch Monocoupe 90A.

I ordered two sets of plans, will use one set for patterns, build on the second set

Also I just received two sets of 100 inch wing span T28 Trojan plans.
PLan on doing the same thing.

Projected AUW will be less than half of an all wood model.
Plan on using electric power.

Purchased an adequate supply of 1/2 inch foam, 3/4 inch foam and 2 inch foam and a set of fanfold foam from Menardsa.

I have a Tekoa Feather Cut foamcutter with all of the accesories for cutting cowls, , round parts, etc.
I figure I can build the Monocoupe for less than 1/3 the cost of a wood kit, plus be much lighter in AUW

Should build much faster also.
