Flysky Nirvana Game Controller Style Radio

Flysky's Nirvana is an open source radio system that is small, light and should appeal to younger pilots and those who want a lighter more portable full function radio.

New Ergonomic Radio from Flysky

With the popularity of the Taranis X-Lite transmitter, it's nice to see another game controller style radio system hit the market. Flysky's Nirvana is an open source platform radio system that looks like nothing you've ever seen before. It's small, light and should appeal to younger pilots and those who want a lighter more portable full function radio. I've seen the DLG guys become more interested in these types of radios due to the way we launch our planes. Drone guys who throw their stuff in a backpack will also be intrigued by this radio. This thing is packed with features listed below and with a price of less than $180, the Nirvana radio is looking like a winner already.

The blue "buttons" (center left above the gimbals) are actually joysticks for the trims.

this thing looks pretty sweet. I love the blueing of all the metal pieces.

Looks like the gimbals are well below the standard set by FrSky unfortunately.

There were brand gimbals, sold as replacement parts, that set high standards long time before Frsky, and even cheaper !
For example you could buy Hitec Aurora gimbals some years ago for $15.

Hitech aurora?

How is that the same standard as the M9 gimbals?

Just look and see.

M9 gimbals have hall effect sensors that alone puts them in a different league. not to speak of the metal construction.

M9 is not a standard model gimbal, it's an upgrade.
An overpriced upgrade, I could say, the 3 axis single stick gimbal was also Hall, and CNC Alu machined, at half of the price.

The usage of Hall sensors the way it was been implemented in M9 is questionable, surely not an industry standard, resulting linearity and symmetry far below even to 8 bits, to express it in units more familiar to this market.
I wrote about this from the first day of Jeti Hall gimbals, how much hype and bling, especially at that price.

USD20.50 overprice for such a gimbal?
To me it's a very good price, especially compared to the USD250 asked by Jeti for their equivalent gimbal

What are you referring to there exactly?

I don't care that much about the way it's been implemented. Instead what I care about is that they are super smooth thanks to the use of those frictionless sensors.
