I've been using it in boats, like the Jet Jam, with a Seaking 30A on 3S, albeit it doesn't stay at WOT very long before losing prime and the impeller is tiny, it hardly breaks a sweat. I'll put a watt meter on it, but I'm going to be surprised if it really gets anywhere near 35-40A on the stock prop.

Is there a more reliable drive shaft available for this boat?
Snapped my 3rd one in a row and everyone is out of stock in the UK anyway.
I intended to buy some flex cable only and repair the broken ones but I can't remove the cable from the shafts. They must have tig welded them or something like that.

Sorry, I don't know of a different source, perhaps contact Offshore Electrics or RC Boat Bitz to see if they have a solution? As far as I know, no reports of the shaft being weak another than yours... and 3? Seems like you've got a screw going through the outdrive housing and pressing on the sleeve and/or shaft, or the motor isn't aligned. When you grease the flex shaft, are you leaving a small gap between the outdrive housing and the dog drive? The cable will shorten slightly under load and will snap if it doesn't have a little room to do so.

Leopard motor

I wanted to upgrade to the Leopard longer motor however they are 4 mm shaft. The stock motor is 3 mm shaft. Anyone know of a coupler for 4 mm motor shaft that will fit the 3.17 flex shaft?
Maybe drill out the stock coupler to 4 mm?

lot's of 4mm mtr side here but the cables are measured in inch. looks like your 3.17 flex equals .125 so .130 cable might do it.

There are more than a few similarities between the Tenshock F1 and the ProBoat Valvryn. I have both boats but have yet to run them (itís winter here). I may have to take some time and determine if the Tenshock shaft will fit the ProBoat. If so, this may serve as replacement for both

Tenshock propeller shaft is a bit thinner and is a model prop for M4 Threaded Shaft.

The manual for the Valvryn shows the Tenshocks steering yoke in the illustration. The Valvryn uses a clip, not a clamp with Allen bolt. Just an observation. They did make a lot of changes, to save money it seems.

thanks for the information. The stock coupler uses a set screw to hold the shaft. Not sure if there is room for a wrench to tighten the collet type??
I'll have to try it.

no frozen lakes here. I couldnt really waterproof or fit the watt meter in the hull as I'd hoped. Need to fix my recovery boat before I start testing anyway. Hoping next week.
