Hitec eclipse 7 controlling motor

I have a Hitec Eclipse 7 used for controlloing a plain. How can I get it to controll the motor in a boat? I just got it to adjust forward, not back and forth. Any idea?

It is the ESC, not the transmitter that decides whether you get reverse or not. A boat ESC has neutral with the stick at center, stick back for reverse, forward for forward. If the ESC is forward only (most planes, some fast boats), neutral (off) is stick full back, pushing the stick forward makes the motor go.

Hi, I am using Mtroniks Viper 20A Marine ESC. Works fine with another Transmitter/receiver. BUT will only go forward with stick back. Nothing happens when I pull the stick forward. Using channel 3.

Got it! Opened up the Eclipse, found a loose contact. Soldered and working!

When I was an apprentice, a lot of years ago, a wise old man said these words of wisdom to me - , "Get as technical as you like young Malcolm, but look for the broken wires first". The truth of his words lives on.
