Hoping for a little help. My search fu has failed me everywhere.
I have an F411 wing with a Frsky R9 slim on uart 1, Beitian BN-180 on uart 2 running at 9600 baud and smartport hooked to Softserial 1 running 57600 baud. I have one motor. Every time I pull throttle back to zero I get "Sensor lost" and Smartport loses gps. Everything else works fine and gps is still active in the OSD and available to the FC. Any ideas? "Sensor lost" is supposed to occur after a timeout (10 seconds?) but it is immediate when I pull throttle back. I'd love to hear theories or if anyone has had a similar problem. Thanks, Dan |

I don't think you should be using a software uart for things like GPS or telemetry. It's good for things like smart audio. I wouldn't assume that's your problem though.

Might not be the problem but thanks for the comment. It gives me some food for thought and a couple things to try. Lack of UARTs on this board is kind of a drag but I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that way.

Any telemetry units you have setup are recorded if you use the special function "save logs.". It will record them to the SD card in LOGS folder. You can open the files in OpenTX companion and even open the GPS data in 3D in Google Earth from the companion.
You don't need the LUA, but that LUA is a great tool to have also, I love it. |

hi all,
my F411 seems to have died on me I was setting it up & all was looking good - I had GPS, SBUS & SmartPort all working fine. but now it won't boot on either battery or USB. the red LED comes on but the green/blue LEDs don't do anything. I'm getting 5V on the 5V pins with the battery plugged in & Vbatt on the VTx power pin with the battery plugged in, but no voltage on the 5V pins with just USB plugged in. also, one of the components on the bottom now gets finger-burningly hot which I'm pretty sure it didn't before? any ideas much appreciated! |

Is the F-411 Wing supported by Arduplane? I can't seem to find it on Ardupilot.org.
I am currently using F-405 Wing but would like the lighter weight of the F-411 Wing of course in the expense of limited uarts, etc. MY current setup is F-405 with R9 Slim+. How do I setup telemetry display on my QX7 to view distance, altitude, speed, aircraft battery voltage and current? I know these are quite a lot but would be good if I can view this essential information rather than through OSD on the monitor. If this is possible, what will be the range the Receiver will transmit the data back to my Taranis? Wait, will the receiver transmit or just receive only? So there must be a way to send this data back to my Taranis? |

I don't know about Ardupilot, but for iNav this LUA will give you the data on your radio. https://github.com/iNavFlight/LuaTelemetry Not certain on the max distance, it will depend on the R9 transmit power, local conditions where you are flying. The R9slim+ does send the data back, and I know I have done 2miles so far with mine. |

And for Ardupilot and the QX7 use the "yaapu.script".......
Not sure how the telemetry is set up on the Matek, but I think you can use every free uart. With my MiniPix I had to build a little diode mod on the cable to the receiver smartport.....( rx and tx on one smartport cable to two cables to the fc ) |
