Fuel light, another way to add the "glow" in glow fuel

Has anyone ever thought about putting an LED under the gas tank to make the tank glow, maybe for late afternoon or night runs? I have just placed an LED under the tank of my car after being frustrated with how hard it is to see when the tank is full when refueling during late afternoon, and it works pretty good as far as "making the tank glow", though I have yet to test it in the late-afternoon light.

My schematic: a 100-ohm resistor and a white LED wired in parallel to the radio and placed under the gas tank facing straight back toward the rear of my car.

This setup works great in being able to tell where the fuel level is. Helps keep me from "spilling over" when fueling in the evening since the liquid fuel is highly visible.
