Set number of cells on a powerlab 6

Ok, I just got a powerlab 6 and after reading the manuals and studying all the operating modes I still don't get it.

I have a 4 cell NiCd pack (series) that I want to change unbalanced.

How do I tell the charger that there are 4 cells? There is no menu item for setting the number of cells.

The pack voltage is too low for it to do any sort of auto-detecting. I tried running a charge cycle but it started ramping up the voltage above 5 v and I stopped it because I don't want it do over-voltage the pack.

Thanks for any ideas,

Anybody know how to set the number of cells for another mode? I am going to grey the USB interface to see if it can be done from software.

This box seems a little hard to use without an obvious path for telling it the number of cells one has in series.

You don't need to set the number of cells when charging.
