Do you know Aeromod French gliders ?
MiniJ; ProdiJ; ArkanJ; MiraJ etc...

http://www.chez.com/aeromod/

Here in France, Aeromod products are very famous, and many slope addicts fly with and enjoy. I've a MiniJ and ProdiJ, great models. 4 axis flying is exciting.

The VoltiJ http://perso.wanadoo.fr/aeromod.concept/Voltij_eng.htm
is a must have for slope acrobatic.

Here is a RC-Group thread about the VoltiJ Slope glider : https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306759

But I need a 2m acrobatic glider, not for slope soaring this time, but for electric fly (acrobatic and fun) near from my job during 12h/14h lunch time. So I've got this glider in order to motorize it !

Aeromod have made me a special VoltiJ edition 100% carbon in place of fiber glass, very light and rigid.

I will post here building & first flys.

Hi Marc,

be careful,if you get too many mouldies,you will never look back on the foamies

What is your estimated AUW for the e-version?

I am not familiar with that Mega motor but i think you should consider one of the new Electronic Model Cyclon motors.I am getting the Elite Mini for my e-Scorpion 2 and i can't wait to put it together! EM advised me a 14x9.5 prop on 8 cells GP1100 (my LiPo don't fit in the fuse).45A shorts bursts!!!!! Sounds very exciting,i just need to see if it is as good in real life as its specs on paper.

But this motor (in theory) can pull a glider of up to 2.5Kg!

Have fun with the e-Volitj (i never saw or even heard of one before).

A +

Guillaume

ps:the 2h lunch break! I miss it.It's more like 30mins here

Hi Guillaume, hi everybody,

>be careful,if you get too many mouldies,you will never >look back on the foamies

>What is your estimated AUW for the e-version?

here are detailled weights :

* Carbon Glider : 925g
* Accu RX 4x850 mAh NiMh AAA : 50g
* RX Gr R-700 : 25g
* 4 servos standard Gr 5077 : 155g

=> Bilan without motorisation : 1kg155 !!!

* construction : 150g ?

* accu LiPo PQ 3100 : 215g
* contro Castle Creation 35A : 35g
* motor Mega 16/25/4 : 120g
* hélice, cône, accessoires etc... : ? 20g

=> Bilan total 1kg690 in flight!...

>I am not familiar with that Mega motor but i think you

we have make many motocalc simulations in order to choose this motorisation : best performance/price we've found

>motors.I am getting the Elite Mini for my e-Scorpion 2
...

you can contact Patrice (from me; in Franch) to see if it's ok for the e-Scorpion : patrice.debut@laposte.net

>Have fun with the e-Volitj (i never saw or even heard of >one before).

it will be the first one ! If it's good in flight, this model can be a real change in acrobatic motorised gliders !!!

PS : sorry for my poor English, I'm French...

It is the biggest ailerons I have ever seen. It must be VERY aerobatics with VERY little surface movements. Enjoy and good luck to your project.

Dear David,

This big ailerons are not for aerobatic performances in fact; they are 30% of the wing in order to use the great capabilities of 4 axis flying : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/aeromod.concept/4axe_eng.htm

4 axis flying is really a very different sensation in flight ! Since I have tried, i can't came back to a classic plane.
It's only work with big ailerons and special wing section (symetric MG 05 for this glider).

Aeromod is actually the specialist in 4 axis gliders :

Professional idiot
Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. How much lighter was your all carbon version compared to the standard glass version?

There are a few of these on my local slope, it really is the most awsome plane I've ever seen.

Dear Dave,

My all carbon version is : 925g when it comes at home, before radio installation and construction. A friend of me have make one slope one and add max 100g for construction.
I think we have to add approximatively 300 / 350g for radio & CG on the standard slope version, wich come in end to 1kg700, so I thing the standard version is approximatively about 1kg300.
300 / 400g weight difference ?!...

I ask Aeromod.

Perhaps more informations on the VoltiJ solpe Thread ? : https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...9&page=1&pp=50
