Every year in Novosibirsk held an aviation show at the airport in Mochishche.
I took part in glider competitions held as part of the show.
He won the third place in a bitter struggle.

Very nice! The craftsmanship is amazing! Any plans to try out in wing spoilers?

Recently flew with a second set of wings on Cardboard. The first starts were not very good.
For such a scope, the aircraft has too weak wing mounts. All hlabano and hang out.
I had to tape it up.
Then it all went quite normal.

You need to put the first version of the wing. I cut the tape with a machete.Got a lot.Moved the wings a little rest and a lot of flights to this embodiment.

Although made of cardboard these planes still rely to a degree on other materials for the highly stressed components like the wing spar.
Some cerial packets use a particularly dense yet thin cardboard so I wondered if such a material could be used in a fully load bearing stressed skin wing structure.
Clearly such cardboard would have adequate tensile strength so the question was just how much support would it need to handle the compression forces.

I already had a simple 40" span pusher that had a very successful wing made with 3 mm Depron skin and ribs with a balsa 'box' spar.

Fully aerobatic and flown regularly its wing has not been structurally repaired for 7 years.
The cardboard version is the same span but made up of 2 'panels' for each half. All the internal structure components are cut from 5 mm polystyrene laminate underlay.

The outer panel contains the aileron servo.

The completed wing on the same pusher plane.

Description:
At 5.25 oz (163 g) it is about 40% heavier than the Depron wing but it 30% more wing area and is made entirely from cardboard and foam!
I doubt it is as strong as the Depron/balsa wing so is flown 'gently' and limited to mild aerobatics but it gors well enough.
