So agapornis is in limbo about his problem with a wide open throttle, Jcosta has advised a more appropriate Receiver, the plot thickens...

I tend to agree with Jcosta. Loss of signal due to exceding the optimum range does not necesarily affect all chanels at once.
If I were you Agapornis, I would borrow a buddy's -tried and tested- Rx (if you don't have an extra one spare yourself) and try it out. What have you got to loose?

Have you ever tried a GWS receiver? If you have you know well why I insist on trying another one... It may not even be a range problem, just a receiver problem... GWS products are cheaper in quality than in price...

I never had a glitch with my Hitec micro 555, and I live in a large metro area. I think jcosta mentioned the supreme 7. I have an electron 6, but haven't used it yet.

thanks tt for opening part III

Aga, I can't help you since I don't know any of the equipment mentioned here. I fly Graupner/JR tx and rx, with some 6ch webra rx for smaller planes (i.e., the ES) without problems.

I have a GWS 4-something-or-other for my small slopers, and it is fine for that.
Once I put it in my Unicorn because my Berg5 was waiting for a new Xtal. It flew fine up close, but 150-200 meters away controls would get very eratic.
That's why I have already agreed with you in my previous post.

IMHO. There is no place for Parkflier equipment in a plane as big, heavy and powerful as a Magister,

At very least the gear should be comparable to a Hitec Flash 5 TX, HS-555 RX and HS-81 mini servos. Don't forget this is a six channel plane if you count the optional bomb dropping and glider towing features.

Cheers. Paddy.

The 555 is also very good, but I only use it in sailplanes because with the Eclipse 7 it does not separate ailerons with a power plane.

How powerful is Magister's 680 motor? Which size of glow engine would be roughly
equivalent to this motor?
