Build Log
Furio
The Breta Furio was the go-to glider for F3B back in 2007.
I got one second hand back then and flew the flaps off it over the next few years. Slope, thermal, F3B/F and even DS'ing with a home-made wing joiner that was still curing after 24 hrs. Fast forward to 2018 and another has landed on the work bench. Untouched, never been built. Dry weight 1921g = 67.8 oz |

So sweet! I’d love to give it a run. I loved all my NYX and Futio’s.
Stable and fast. P |

Radio Tray
Copper etched off PCB in a bath with the magic powder.
First effort was laminated and had the ruder servo offset to clear a ballast bar but I don't reckon I'll bother with fuz ballast at this stage. The tray was also 31 grams and too heavy so Take 2 which will be just a single layer PCB with rudder mounted more centrally. Key here is to mount the tray low down so the elevator pushrod clears the joiner. |

It is refreshing to see an "old school" style servo install with a modern twist. Lots of room, simple and straight forward; nothing tricky or complicated. And it will work!
I have a similar build on the bench. It is only a 60"er, but a set up that looks the same. Thanks for sharing, Adam |

Old School Z-Bend
Tray fixed in with JB Weld but not before slotting the sides of the tray with a Dremel.
Just a very shallow recesses enough for the glue to flow into. Z-bend pliers made light work of the rudder pushrod, a drop of MediumZap to eliminate slop. |

Canopy & Servos
Still waiting on servos (94761) for flaps.
Ordered 15thJune. Where does everyone get their 94761 fix? While waiting for the servos it's a good chance to make a 'glass canopy. The carbon one is lovely but carbon's bad for radio reception. Three layers of 2oz satin-weave should do it. |

Reason: Added fibre

...but the rest of the fuz looks like carbon/kevlar weave??

Canopy Upgrade
New canopy has saved 9g but more importantly is 2.4 transparent.
Flap servos still on a slow boat from Hong Kong. |
