What brand radio Rx servos are you using?
Is that a scratch built model?
Thanks, Congrats, Sir!
I use a Hitec Aurora 9x radio with Optima 9 rx. The servos are a mix of MKS HV747 and MKS HV6130.

For the distance travelled per lap you can figure ~3.1sec at 800ft/s ~2500ft so about 800ft diameter. This is larger than theoretically optimal but was alot more flyable given the turbulence...

I was involved with the design and built the plane but 'scratch built' would be misleading since alot of people have contributed on the project. Most notably Dirk Plug, Thomas Pils, and Stutgart University. Thanks guys!

Sorry ,I didn't have a stopwatch when I did the above figuring. Lap times are shorter than I thought...

@distance:

He's averaging about 2.5 second laps. So 2.5 s times 545 mph is 666 yards, or maybe 0.61 km.

A little under half a mile per lap.

That video was just a little better than the video I just posted flying my big slow foamie on the front side.
I feel like such an amateur.

Congratulations! An incredible feat!

I hope to see a write-up with all the details: sailplane design, slope and wind conditions needed, method, location, and pilot bio. Is this an official record?

No official sanctioning organization. Strictly unofficial. You can find out about the plane and pilot by searching this forum.

Nice! Brings tears to my eyes
It would be interesting to have a second camera filming the tx controls, and linking it as a small window during the flight!
