To fit a Grumania pipe, I think the Hawk is easiest out of the 3 air frames, the L39 is most difficult.

The quality of the pipe is good just donít like to attach a big bowl at the front.

Suggest you to test run your G3 on a test stand first and donít use diesel on this engine.

A bit more work done this evening.
Removed the blind nuts that come installed for the JP Fan and centered the DS51 and drilled the holes after determining the fore/aft position to allow the bellmouth to fit correctly.
Made a ESC mount and glued it in place.
I cut the center out to allow cooling holes in the base plywood should it be required.

Here’s my mini Mb339 with shubie. You’re right, pipe was impossible!
Thanks RB for pipe recommendation, they look pretty great. I’m big on Carlos tanks, his tanks are super nice.
I’m still away, but I’ll do a few comparisons on hawk, hopefully next week.....

What a pretty jet patmac. I see you got your setup from Gary, Interesting he installs a heat sink.
The motor tube stator design cools the motor quite nicely WITHOUT an additional heat sink.
What cell count are you going with?

Fan mounting tip

When mounting the DS51 i use a #3 servo mounting screw with a #2 fender washer and then a cut a length of 1/2A silicone fuel tubing over the screw. It fits perfectly into the Grommet in the mounting flange. I tighten the screw until it the washer contacts the grommet and then go a 1/4 turn more. Makes for a very quiet fan installation!

I'm going with the KingTech K45 G3 as well in this jet, my first turbine. I was able to source a pipe from Grumania for a Sebart Mini MB339. It is designed for this model. I just purchased one. Hopefully that will be an easy fit, or even if it's designed for the model are you saying that its hard to get in there?

Cheers
