If youíre still looking on here, Iíd love to see pics of the hawk- (Iím waiting for one in sept)
I have an electric setup ready to mount (like on the Avanti) and think Iíd do another turbine- for which I havenít decided-
The MB339 was a pain to get the pipe in, but if the hawk is easier, thatís the way Iíll go
Thanks

Cheers, so smaller than the front of this thread suggests. It is no surprise there is confusion though as it is longer in inches than cm according to Sebart as well😂

I took a few pictures of my Hawk. The tank is 1.5litre. The pipe is a Grumania pipe for 4.5N turbine. It’s inner diameter is 60mm. I cut down the bell originally for putting it into my mini Avanti.

Hope this can help.

Span and hawk

Span of MB339 is a hair under 54 inches tip to tip

Caliber- thanks for those pics- I’m going to give serious thought to putting a turbine in the Hawk. Your pipe install looks great, and doesn’t seem like the pain the MB339 turned out to be ( so much so, I put a shubie in there)
I’m making a Grumania order for a pipe for my Avanti XS with K-85 which is on its way from Lindinger
What size tank is in there? I’m looking at another Carlos tank for it, it’s a 1.2 liter like the one in my L-39

For my XS, I bought the 2.8L tank from CM jets. I am going to put a K120 in it. My friend’s has the same config and flew around 5 minutes and have 1/4 fuel left.

The belly of the hawk seems has enough space so the Kuza 1.5L is good enough. I do not have it in the air yet but I reckon it has more drag compared to mini Avanti.

I am waiting for the new K45G3 to put into the hawk. I flew the Xicoy X45 in my mini Avanti today and I like it very much as it is lighter. I don’t think the Hawk is that forgiving as the mini Avanti in the air so make it lighter, should be better.

I’m watching the KT group on FB- I’ve HEARD k45 G3 is going to be smaller, and better......
Waiting waiting......
I’m going with the k85 in the XS- that enough? Should I put a bigger one? I see blog with 100 size
I was on the fence with xs and t-1 mini, cheaped out a bit plus ease of xs......

Back to electric

Iíve removed the k-45 G2 from the L-39. It was just too fat at 10.5 + lbs.
flying it electric. I ordered the k-45G3 for the upcoming Hawk (thanks Neil!)
I ordered another Grumania pipe, but still have the stock sebart pipe. Weíll see which fits better, and the temps- someone warned the stock pipe got warm with K-45. More of a 30 user maybe.....

Just installed a Grumania pipe and X45 into my MB339. It is not easy to fit but I managed to put turbine exhaust in the center of the pipe.

The pipe is 60mm diameter and is same size for the Hawk.

I also found a plastic tank of 1.1L which fits perfectly inside.

Next step is to replace the servos that comes with the kit with HV servos. I am planning on running a 2S 1450 LiPo for the turbine and electronics.

Installing a DS51/YGE 12S Setup in my MB 339. Hope to have it flying next weekend at the DOGS Show in Dayton. The stock exhaust tube fits the nicely. I installed promodeler servos. Really impressed with their quaility, speed, power, and price.

The servos also feature a std size output shaft with 25 teeth and use a full size servo arm
