sub'd I've built a few of these, and have the plans. Would like to do another one so I will watch this thread intently. The last one I built I nixed the mechanical mixer, and went like you are. really convenient. Good luck !

I began rough shaping one fuselage. Quite a bit of work.

The triangle stock nose block is nice cause as I sand, it reveal layers like peeling back an onion.

The glue joints provide a reference line.

It's starting to look like a Slope Master.

Still need to make the hatches.

I now have two beautifully shaped fuselages.

They each weigh 2.6 oz.

All that's left is to make the hatch assembly.

I'm very pleased with the results and the 1" triangle stock for nose build up, worked very well. I believe the glue joints added strength and glue lines provided me a reference during the shaping process.

Once the hatch is completed, I will do a final sand and shaping.

Indeed! A very nice aid to the nose shaping. They look great!

Your moving them right along Ken, nice work.

Lookin' good..... Have you flown the Spectrum yet?? I've got one of these for shaping jobs. hard to find, but they come up once in a while on RCG...(Looks like the Hee Haw method works fine too....)

Thanks guys.

No I haven't flown the Spectrum yet.

A power sander would have been nice, oh well, I burned a few calories.

Once I get the hatches made, it will be time to start on the wings.

Thanks again for hanging with me. Build threads are a lot more fun when you get some feedback.

Got the first hatch glued to triangle stock.

The triangle stock is glued to hatch cover. First it's pinned into place.
