Helifar X140 Pro 3 Inch FPV Racing Drone Mini Review.

EDIT-5/26/2018 Frsky BNF is now on sale for $149

The new X140 Pro arrived on my door step today. I've been very excited about getting this one since I really like the original FuriBee X140, which this is supposed to be an improvement on. For those that haven't heard yet, it appears as though FuriBee will be changing their brand name to Helifar.

Anyway, this little racer is built on a 145mm stretched X frame with 4mm arms. The quad is equipped with an F4 flight controller, a Blheli-32 25A 4 in 1 2-4s ESC running Dshot 1200, a 25/100/200mw VTX with Pit Mode, a 600TVL CCD FPV camera, and 1408 3800kv motors. The product desciption on the Gearbest page states 3600kv motors, but mine are clearly marked 3800kv (See pics)

You also get a buzzer, a programmable LED, and 8 Racekraft 3041 4 blade props.

Many of you may have already seen Andy RC's review on YouTube, and he didn't like the stock props. He switched them out for some Gemfan Flash 3052 props and the quad performed much better. I will also be trying it with both. The Gemfan 3052 have been my favorite 3 inch prop since their release.

This little racer is available as an Frsky BNF, a Flysky BNF, or as a PNP model ready for your choice of receiver.

Check out the pictures, and flight videos, and stay tuned for more info coming soon.

First flight, completely stock on stock props.

Slightly adjusted rates, and Andy RC's PIDs with Gemfan 3052 props. This thing rocks!

Got some Gemfan 3052 installed, adjusted the rates a bit, and switched to Andy RC's PID's. Batteries charging now. More flight video coming ASAP.

Mounted an SQ11 in a 3D printed mount. Flies ok with it, but I think I'll need to adjust the PID's a bit if I decide to leave it on there.

Trying to decide between the Furibee x140 and the Helifar X140 Pro... What was the first experience like? What's flight time like? How does it fair in a crash? Easy to get in and switch parts out?

Howdy. My apologies for the delayed reply. Honestly, I really like both models. The X140 is a bit more cramped as far as elecs go, and it isn't quite as fast as the X140 Pro. Both quads are capable of taking a pretty good beating.

At the current prices I think the Pro version is the way to go, since it's only about $20 more and you'll get an F4 FC instead of an F3, you get a more powerful Blheli-32 ESC, and you get more powerful 1408 motors instead of the 1306 motors of the original X140.

As for flight times, what batteries do you have, or have in mind?

650 or 850 4s is a pretty available battery. Looking to switch out for a runcam split mini as well. Your experience with best batteries, props, handling and flight times with the two?

Side note: what's the real difference in the dt140 space wolf and the x140 pro?

Tattu 850mah on the Gemfan 3052 props with a lot of wide open throttle punches gives right around 4 minutes.

I have no personal experience with the DT140. The most notable differences I see are that the DT140 has 1407 3600kv motors, and the X140 Pro has 1408 3800kv, and the DT140 has a Blheli-S ESC and the X140 Pro has the newer Blheli-32 ESC.

I'm keen to use an FrSky R-XSR and telemetry with this - can anyone share the pinout of the flight controller? I'm not sure where to wire the S.Port!

Bad VTX

I have the FrSky version of this and I have a problem with the vtx. At maximum power (Supposedly 600 Mw)I get a range of maybe 100 yards.
