Powerbox systems in combination with SBEC

Hi all

I am building a plane with a Powerbox Royal and I want to connect SBEC to one of the battery channels and a lipo to the other.
This all works, except that the Powerbox is switching on, on that battery channel automatically, when I connect the main power to the SBEC.

Is it possible to change this behavior ?

What voltage does the SBEC have versus the voltage of the LiPo?

Not familiar with the Powerbox Royal on how it works. But one could try one of those LiFe packs with their slightly lower voltage of 6.6 Volts during normal operation, compared to 7.2 Volts DC or so for the LiPo.

Another option would be to try putting a silicon diode, with a 5 Amp rating in series with the red wire of the LiPo (Or LiFe). A simple short servo extension with the diode soldered into the red wire will allow quick testing without chopping up the LiPo battery connector, or its corresponding switch.

The SBEC produces 9V, but that is not that important, everything above 7.8V is good.

But it is not about the voltage, but that the Powerbox for safety reasons is on when you apply power to any of the channels.
I want the SBEC because of 2 reasons, the Powerbox is tempera rely ( it will move to a bigger plane ) and the
next Powerbox will not have any voltage regulation, then the SBEC will provide a fixed voltage, unlike lipo's.
Second reason, I don't like charging RX batteries every time, main power I do at the field.

The Lipo that I use is only there for backup power, the SBEC is there for main power to the RX stuff.
The diode gave me an idea if I use a diode to connect the lipo also to the second battery channel it will not lose the power on the second battery connection while disconnection the SBEC.
The only problem with that is that I want to use the telemetry voltage alarm to check if the SBEC is still working.
Multiple diodes in series will fix that ( 2 or 3 ), this would give more then enough difference between the SBEC voltage output and the battery voltage.

Will do some experiments :-)
