I NEED SOME 2.5 INCH build part RECOMMENDATIONS

Hi

I NEED SOME 2.5 INCH BUILD RECOMMENDATIONS

I made this component list for a 2.5 inch prop size build I would like to start. Im looking for some recommendations, like, which parts would you recommend, which parts could I get cheaper elsewhere, which parts should I replace by others, etc... . Prices include shipping costs.
Later I would like to upgrade with the micro split mini with HD DVR recording, or the micro swift 3 with extreme long lens, but for now I will go for a rather cheap cam and vtx combo.

I want a build in betaflight osd, fc should not be too fancy in terms of features (F3 is ok), but should have decent quality (acc, gyro, no drift &#128522.
I will only fly 3s, as I have a lot of those batteries laying around.

I was thinking of

frame: +- 31 euro

31 euros for the BR 2.5 frame from Quad Karl (heavy but sturdy):
https://armattanproductions.com/pages/kit_detail/1447
with these sides:
https://armattanproductions.com/page..._details/14958
because they have increased height (split mini can fit) and protect the micro swift 3 well as I understood it.
So this frame actually comes down to about 31 to 35 euros, a bit too pricy for me, but I dont know any other frame that will protect the micro swift 3 well and has a decent stack height
This is the combo: https://droiddesignfpv.co.uk/product...=7626126065719

Motors: 4X EMAX RS1106 6000KV - 54 euro

Propellers:
gemfan flash 2540 (2.5 inch) 3 euro
https://www.banggood.com/4-Pairs-Gem...r_warehouse=CN

Flight controller + esc: I think a need a 20A or more esc?

Maybe this one: HGLRC XJB F428 Micro F4 +- 52 euro
https://www.banggood.com/20x20mm-XJB...r_warehouse=CN

or this one: Matek System 20x20mm F411-mini 21 euro

https://www.banggood.com/Matek-Syste...l?rmmds=search
together with Spedix 20A 4 In 1 Mini ESC 21 euro
https://www.banggood.com/Spedix-20A-...r_warehouse=CN

A noise reducing capacitor
No idea, please recommend 😊

Good range spektrum dsm2/dsmx receiver, preferable stackable in 20*20 mm stack.
NO IDEA, please find me one that is compatible with the fc
These are non stackable:
https://www.banggood.com/Mkron-2_4G-...r_warehouse=CN
or
https://www.banggood.com/IRangeX-RM6...r_warehouse=CN

battery
TATTU 11.1V 650mAh 75C 3S1P Lipo
And these
Gaoneng GNB 11.1V 550mAh 80/160C 3S Lipo

So that makes about 140 euros without battery, cam and vtx. I still have the feeling its cheaper to buy a pre build one, but in this size I only know of the upgraded arms possibility of the babyhawk race drone.

If you want to upgrade to something like a Micro Split Mini I'd go with something like the https://www.banggood.com/F4-Zeus-Fly...p-1197756.html which will hopefully leave you enough room to hold the 2x 20x20mm stack for the Micro Split Mini. Make sure you get a frame that has enough room to support this future upgrade though. Take a look for 2.5" builds using the Micro Split Mini on https://rotorbuilds.com/

Don't like the zeus, the expensive to replace if fc or esc breaks.

yeah but I like the 2.5 from quad karl more
slightly cheaper too

No need to go for super expensive motors, especially for 2,5 inch. Consider the BBB motors instead. Albert Kim had a build with them, and he seemed very satisfied.

and the 5v rail is way under the listed spec!
then there's HGL's abysmal warranty support. sorry did i say abysmal? i meant practically nonexistent.

great stuff tho. when it works.

I was building a runcam split mini micro and using much similar parts as those in your list.
I will give a few experience of mine:
1) I used Matek F411 mini + that Spedix 20a. I would not recommend this combination. This FC have not a single VBAT pad for VTX/Camera, so I have to wire VTX to 5 volts and wire Runcam split mini to battery input pad directly. And the result was pretty aweful Even an alarming buzzer can induce a bit of noise line to FPV feeds (should be because of the VTX). When applying throttle, the whole image is covered in strips and patterns. Looks like that capacitor comes with the esc is essential
2) the frame I used is 3dpower Jet 110. Good frame for Runcam Split Mini due to the amount of vertical space available. It also provides a little bit of soft mounting for motors, which is important since Runcam split mini build should use rigid standoffs/long steel bolts. The frame can hold a ESC-FC-Split Mini stack with out any issue. If the ESC+FC is low (e.g. Spedix IS100), it is also possible to hold a ESC-FC-VTX-Split Mini full stack. But this frame has no slot for battery strap on the bottom plate. Overall I recommended to use for a Runcam split build.
3) Use the HGLRC stack maybe a better choice. I used before and got no big problems. However, that stack provides no means of soft mount - just buy some rubber o-rings to use as the standoff in the bottom layer.

Thx cjn 2789. Does the HGLRC stack had good connection to video input? Directly on the receiver I guess?

The connection for video in/output usually is not the problem. It is the power source of VTX/camera which can cause issues.
HGLRC F428 has one vbat pad and one 5v pad on the FC for powering VTX/Camera. I have used it for a build based on 1306 motors, Foxeer Arrow Micro (vbat ) and VTX03 (5v) which has no big issues with noise. But that large capacitor come with the stack is used in that build. Whereas, I had not put on the capactor for the Matek F411 FC, so maybe thats the difference.
For Runcam split mini build i think the camera should use totally vbat while the vtx should use 5v. Be aware though, many good vtx requires vbat too as they require 2S voltage at least.

Can't I connect just like multiple wires (vtx, camera, ...) to one vbat connection on the FC? I guess that's a parallel circuit then? So In a parallel circuit the voltage is the same for all elements.

Yes it works. The particular FC we are talking about here, the Matek F411 mini, only has a tiny vbat pad that is the input for the entire FC. So if you want to hook up two things to vbat, there will be three wires on that tiny solder pad ... Moreover, that is an input pad, so it does not go through all the filtering circuit on the FC assuming there is one. However that FC has a 5volt BEC rated at 2A, so for a usual 25mw VTX and a usual micro camera it is a good choice (it has a good soft mounting solution and the overall ease-to-work-with is ok). It's just that Runcam split mini alone need 700 mA when powered via 5v. With a good VTX and some LEDs, it's is really approaching that 2A limit.

Whatever u get DO NOT get hglrc, their crap has fatal design problem m, super weak pins
10a esc is enough with 2540 and 3s battery
If u don't care about osd I say piko blx stack is good, I used 1 stack for months flying daily til I made a human error ruined the esc lol, did I mention its dirt cheap? $33!

I have better luck with the clone PikoBLX than the original one. My 3" is my get to go with clone PikoBLX BF 2.9.0 (no need for update since it's dialed in for my flying style) and it is the only one that I kept while the rest of my other built quads are been sold. I had a few HGLRC fc in the past and their quality has slowly improved unlike with my very first HGLRC fc in 20x20 with very small solder pads and when wires get snag from crash the pads ripped off easily.
