There are some folks doing 3D printing for hulls and various parts. Nautilus Drydocks imports a couple of kits from Europe that have 3D printed parts and a section of PVC pipe.

Bob at Nautilus Drydocks is great about sourcing cool and unique sub-stuff. He has a video review of the Kilo on the website and I believe he said he had the Virginia class kit inbound for a review as well.

Cost and quality are still very big issues when compared to traditional manufacturing.

This gentleman has quite a few sub components, in various scales, that are available, 3D printed.

Yes, and they are very nice. Also, very expensive and fragile. It will be great when the promise of 3d printing matches up with practicality but we are not quite there yet.

Link to web site for above video RCsubs

Lots of models and lots of deck photo etchings.

I have no experience with this company, just looked at their web site to see what they offered.

Compared to traditional methods, 3D printing has a ways to go. It's more expensive, takes longer, and results in a poorer surface finish.

The benefit is that you can do one-off's easily without needing to invest in molds and casting supplies to the tune of hundreds of dollars.
