I too experienced the same issues with the MKS 6110HV's in 2017/18 and replaced them with Futaba servos for elevator and rudder on two of my F5J models.
I'm about to purchase servoes for a Xplorer BF, the fuselage of which appears to be specifically designed to fit the MKS 6110HV for the rudder and elevator. Should I be worried, have the 2017 batch problems gone away, any suggestions for alternatives to 6110 and 6130 servos.

Just getting into higher speed electrics glad I read this I would expect no complaints from anyone at this price range. I will be going with KST servos.

I have never had a problem with any MKS servos.

My Explorer Big Flap has now made several hundred flights with MKS 6110HV's fitted on ailerons, elevator and rudder. No issues at all to report. Excellent centering and no drifting off settings.

My first experience with mks was the HV69, after a few flights one started moving up and down for no reason, luckily I managed to land without damage. I bought these very expensive servos thinking that MkS was the best on the market in terms of reliability, as I have burned many Hitecs before these. I hope it is only an isolated case, now I have written to my dealer about the problem I am waiting for an answer.

Not sure how much this relates but I am fairly new to using MKS servos. I installed a pair of 6100HV in the ailerons of my Supra Pro and they have been flawless. However sailplanes is not what I fly most of the time. My main interest is with F3A pattern. Yesterday marked the 100th flight of my latest design/build using HV69 on ailerons and rudder, 6100HV on elevators. All servos being run on unregulated 2S Lipo. Centering has been very good and no noticeable gear wear so far. I just started flying a 91" Yak that has 777a+ servos throughout. So far very happy. Despite the graphics, I am NOT a sponsored pilot but would not turn down an offer.

I few weeks ago I had a 6130 flap servo fail inflight on a Mini Twister and had some repair work to do. So I do have one question, is there a drop in replacement for the HV6130 in an IDS frame? It looks like the KST X10mini or X10 v2.0 might fit.
Thanks,
Alan

The distance between the holes between mks and x10 mini is the same also the size, x10 instead is a little longer, kst has three wings if it doesn't fit, just cut it.

That is what I was thinking. Just interested to see if anyone has tried it.

I ordered a X10 mini to try out.

I haven't tried them myself yet, but I have friends who use them are fine.

Second that. Sent in a bad HV69 about a year ago. Filled out their warranty return paperwork. Received nothing. No email, no replacement servo. 60 bucks down the tube. I'm guessing we won't be hearing from them. The servo I sent in was a straight dud.

Just curious, those who sent servos in for repair/replacement, was MKS USA contacted prior to sending them in?

Exf3bguy, I can answer that, the answer is YES. I had to contact MKS and was emailed something like a return form with directions, instructions and a number or code...
Since this experience I have moved on from MKS. There are too many good servos out there to choose from.
