Turnigy SK8 Skateboard Conversion Kit

If you've been eyeing a boosted board, a powered skateboard, but don't want to pay the $1000+ it costs to get one, you might be interested in the Turnigy SK8 Conversion Kit for your own non-powered skateboard.

Easy and Fun Event Transportation

Events are a blast and getting larger all the time. Walking around to get from one end of the field to another is great for your body, but not very fun. If you've been eyeing a boosted board, a powered skateboard, but don't want to pay the $1000+ it costs to get one, you might be interested in the Turnigy SK8 Conversion Kit for your own non-powered skateboard.

The kit utilizes a Turnigy 2000W motor which has plenty of torque and power. It also includes a Turnigy 50A skateboard ESC that features regenerative braking. It has steel trucks and high speed bearings to go with the new wheels. This is an easy conversion to do and take an existing standard skateboard and turns it into a mean machine for getting around.

You do need to provide some parts and you may already have them in your hobby room. It requires two 6000mAH 5S Lipos which can be used in series or parallel, some connectors and a pistol grip radio system. The kit costs $291 and is available at HobbyKing right now.

Check out the Turnigy SK8 Skateboard Conversion Kit Here.

How do you control the motor and braking? I assume you don't carry a transmitter when skating.

Because it’s about a transportation device people use at events.

So do you control with your transmitter, I don't see any hand help speed controller. What's the speed ranges and duration? Looks cool but a video would answer questions.

Looks like you need to provide a receiver and transmitter. Looks like it would do 10-15 mph.

if I was halfway decent at riding skateboards I would buy this in an instant. but I cant ride them normally so I don't think I need a method to speed up my trip to the concrete!

super cool though.
