After flying Albatross on ocean for 3 weeks I can say no float plane can match the GT, I'll be building my new GT this weekend, my custom 3D floats are still in works as I wait for my Prusa XL so I'll use stock floats till my XL shows up

ITTD, very nice that you are still building and flying the GT. Your YouTube videos are classics with California sun, nice ocean shots, a few hot chicks, and even a few rough landings. Let the good times roll and thanks for the time you take to put it all together! Steve

I fly with 5000mAh 6S all the time. Sometimes I throw in a 6000.
It is a tight area to get your hands inside to tighten the strap, though. I put in one of MorganRC's battery cartridge systems, so I can change batteries in seconds. I used the one designed for the Carbon Z Cub. http://www.morganmill.com/RC/Carbon_Z_Cub_Parts.html |

if you read Joe's List, SMC is usually #1 on 125A and 150A Ratings https://www.smc-racing.com/index.php...=604&limit=100 Word of Warning!! For those who haven't flown SMC or Liperior, be aware that unlike most other LiPos which have a CURVED output line, SMC / Liperior are LINEAR!! I flew HRB 6s 6000s on my Su30 Alenka, often I'd be in holding pattern while incursions walked into my runway! Many times I got 3.5v, 3.4v even 3.3v Low Cell callouts- cuz the output is curved ie you can run batt down to 3.4 3.3 even as voltage sags- NOT WITH SMC!! The out put is LINEAR and will give you solid power til you hit ~3.51v per cell- then the voltage FALLS OFF THE CLIFF!!! You will not get a low cell callout at 3.50v and think you have juice for another go around!!!! Happened to me twice- Alenka was resurrected twice and flies on!

I set my Tx to give me a low cell alarm when the lowest cell remains at 3.8 volts for 4 seconds. I second alarm is sounded when I hit 3.7 volts on the lowest cell -- and a SIREN is sounded IF I hit 3.5 volts on the lowest cell. I generally land pretty close to 3.75 volts on the lowest cell -- and that's the ideal storage voltage to it's all good. |

I have a Grand Tundra in the basement just waiting to be assembled! Any pictures of how you installed the Morgan setup in yours? Thanks! Don |

Hi Don!
I posted about this back in #3584 here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=3584 I should add, that I have since added magnets to the latch gates, on the battery trays. They are the gray dots on the latch and tray. I had a latch pop open on the battery in my FMS Pitts, and the battery slipped out, and all the way into the tail. I was able to hover to a landing, but a moisture check was required for my undies! I haven't had a premature evacuation, since adding the magnets. |
