Spectrum low voltage setting

I have a Spektrum DX6 whose original battery was replaced by a 3-cell Lipo whose output voltage is 9.6 volts and presumably was made for transmitters. It operate fine with this battery but the transmitter’s low voltage alarm sounds for a while every time the DX6 is turned on. Is it possible to reset the low voltage alarm? Also, would the DX6 be harmed if a 3-cell 12 volt Lipo is installed? Thanks for your help.
