VAS 2.4 Folded Dipole

I realized I have to use an SMA female to RP-SMA male adapter to use in my Horus radio (not sure why VAS/Alex decided to build this antenna using an SMA male instead of the normal RP SMA male like the rest of compatible antennas).... in any case, I was wondering if, on top of the usual DB loss due to the extra adapter (which by the way defeat the purpose of a higher gain antenna), is the SWR also increases because the cable/antenna distance also change??

Anybody else using this antenna? whats your thoughts
