Yippee!

MicroHeli.com CNC Swashplate for TREX-450! Even lighter than the plastic swashplate!!

Gentlemen,

Aluminum is about 10-15% heavier than plastic. This brand new swashplate for TREX-450X is designed to minimize the weight while bringing best performance to your heli. It is made of high quality aircraft aluminum 6061 T6511 and is yet incrediblely 2 grams lighter than the stock plastic swashplate!!! The first ever groundbreaking record!

And it can fit on your ZOOM/SHOGUN heli as well.

We plan to do chrome plated on aluminum for these swashplates. Also florecent color anodizing, starting with orange color. Anyone suggested some color you like to be on this?

What about a RotorHead for the T-rex 450x that would be nice. I would like to see red, blue, Aluminum color.

I agree. Red, Blue, and clear. I would rather see purple than the day-glo colours. Those went out in the 90's and i hope they never come back ! ;P

Phil,

The second picture shows the one on the left is the stock plastic swashplate and the one on the right is MicroHeli UNI swashplate. Stock plastic swashplate is @ hefty 14.2grams.

I will still be upgrading to the Microheli swash for my Shogun. The weight penalty is a measly 2.9g.

Now, if you take into account that for the stock Shogun swash to be reliable I had to add a minimum of four additional screws to the bottom of the factory swash to keep it from falling apart I should still come out ahead with the Microheli alum. swash. Hell, some guys are using 8 screws to hold the factory swash together.

I would imagine (not taking it apart to weigh some screws!) that each one of those screws weighs 1g. stock plate is 9.3g plus four screws at 1g each = 13.3g for the stock swash and some Shogunners could be 17 or so grams.

Even if I am way off, then the stocker with the screw is still the same weight as the Microheli alum. swash which I am sure has a much nicer bearing in it and won't soon develope slop.

Can't wait to get my alum. swash from Microheli!

Yeah, it's a little heavier than the stock one. If you have ever had your bearing seperate from the swash then you would know why some of us install screws in the bottom the factory swash to capture the bearing. If this hasn't happened to you yet, then it will!

In the long run they are about the same weight.

If your going to do a chrome plating, how about black chrome? I'd say make three.

1. Chrome
2. Black Chrome
3. Clear anodized over the stock aluminum color.
