Reflex XTR and nVidia Quadro FX Go1000

I am thinking of picking up a Dell M60 Precision Workstation and want to find out if the nVidia Quadro FX Go1000 will work.

Thanks in advance

The photorealistic flying fields in Reflex XTR were painfully slow on my P4 2GHz IBM Thinkpad with, if I remember right, Quattro FX 5700. The old-style (i.e. not photorealistic) field allowed for very smooth flying, just as RealFlight G2.

bluesky123, try reducing ur display resolution. Even 800x600 looks
great and the frame rate will go up dramatically.

Microflite,

I've, of course, tried to lower the resolution and reduce all the visual details. At high resolution there are no background at all, the plane sits in the middle of the white empty space. At 640x480, I was getting like 2 Frame Per Second... At the same time, the non-photorealistic flying field was working well at high resolutions.

My understanding is that ATI Mobility FireGL 7800, which my IBM Thinkpad A31p has, is not optimized for working with large textures. Work with textures is a strong point of the "gaming" video cards/chips, while FireGL cards are "CAD" solutions, with limited texture capabilities.
