I'm using HS225's in my P-80. I have a spare and checked it for fit in Spectrum. It's to big for fuselage and may be to wide for wing. But I've been happy with those servos in the P-80.

I think I can come up with a couple of JR 341 or 331's for the ailerons. So that would leave me with the elevator, rudder and flaps. Seriously considering KST's at least for the flaps.

Got the vertical fin rough sanded tonight.

It's almost ready for primer.

I had to do a little extra sanding in areas where the paint cracked due to flexing.

I'm happy with the repair.

Think I have the servo thing worked out. I will have to steal a couple of servos from other planes but that will allow me to only have to buy another HS 85MG.

So I will have JR 331's for rudder/elevator, JR 341's for ailerons and HS 85MG's for flaps.

I originally set this glider up with the JR 331/341's.

My other 341's are hard wired in my TG-3 so I'm not gonna mess with those.

A little more sanding, primer and paint, then it should be good to go.

Thanks Bob,

I got the first coat of primer on. Used flat white, left over from previous builds.

Final coat will be gloss white.

I use gift wrapping paper to protect from over spray. Works great. Just remember if you have young kids in the house, don't use the same paper Santa uses, otherwise you may traumatize the little ones.

Fin is sanded and ready for gloss white.

Nose could use some touch up, but it will probably get some more abuse.

One more white primer on the fin so the dark doesn't show through.
Aw, my vote, go ahead and fix the nose scratches on top there. Bottom will get scratched up more again though.

First couple of coats look pretty good.

This paint has built in primer so it covers very well.

I'll let it set for a few days then wet sand and hopefully apply final coat.

Thanks, I will probably just paint the whole fuselage cause it would look better.

I'm gonna give the paint a couple of days to set before I wet sand.

I think I've decided on servos. KST DS135MG for wing and DS145MG for elevator/rudder.

I really like the paint I'm using. See earlier post picture.

Covers very well without the tendency to run or sag.

Wing servo concept

I don't have servos yet for the Spectrum, but I had a spare DS125MG that I'm using to figure out a mounting system.

Trying to maintain the KISS principle.

I will make a slot that the bottom tab can fit into and then use two servo screws to secure.

Yeah I guess that'll work.

Won't the servos have to be raised up off the top sheeting for the mounting blocks to be thick enough for the mounting screws to go into?

I usually just wrap wing servos in masking tape and glue them in to the top sheeting.

If I ever need to take a servo out, I just cut the tape and take it out.
