MJX Bugs 5W B5W 1080p30 1axis gimbal remotely tiltable camera *owners thread*

After a very good experience with the MJX Bugs2W, I'm really looking fowards to the recently introduced MJX Bugs 5W.

MJX keeps what is already good about the Bugs2 like the GPS and GPS options, the brushless motors, telemetry on the controller

But it's the camera that got my interest the most:

Looks like a modular system (?), but the best is that it works like a 1 axis gimbal PLUS the camera is tiltable from the controller!!! Excellent.

Do hope the specs on the camera are thru and it actually will be filming at 30 fps and take genuine 8 MP pictures:

Controller; this time with a long, slim line lcd:

If all that will actually work out like promised, I'm sure this will be one of quads to get in 2018

I'm very interested in this one.

My guess is that this will replace the 2W. This and the 2SE (720p-version of the 2W) will be left with the 3 Pro, 10 H and 8 pro.

But he description says "Mechanical Gimbal".
Doesn`t that mean, that just the angle of the camera can be varied by hand?

It also says 'single axis mechanical gimbal' and 'you can adjust the camera angle by remote control' plus the picture indicates a turning wheel on the top righthand corner of the controller. I think 'mechanical gimbal' is used here opposed to electronic stabilisation.

Here is a YouTube video on the Bugs 5W that might explain what it features.

Plus, as a bonus it makes the text harder to read by zooming it away

The disturbing thing, coming from a 2W, would be the control range 300-500m.

That's just their quoted range for the wifi FPV.

"More than 1km remote control distance, 1080P zero-latency real time images transmission & 300 meters FPV distance"

Another interesting model from MJX... will be watching this space. I wonder if those motors are plastic caps like on B2C.

I really like the MJX series of bugs because I have been use and feel how the performance of Bugs 3 and Bugs2W.

unlike cheerson who tries to make products with open source flight controller, mjx stick with their own FC. The series of bugs series is very interesting design, and has a good enough durability in the face of crashes, but the list of wishes for their next product in the future not too much. just expect a drone with standard capabilities for follow me, circle point, and mission planner features. utilization of android phone not only for FPV, but also for displaying telemetry.

Technically it is possible to connect between android phone with drone not directly through wifi signal 2.4 ghz / 5 ghz but via remote controller with purpose To extend telemetry data acceptance range and mission planner from and to android phone.
