had a chance to fly the cub, been enjoying my f959 so much i been neglecting the cub.
prop had plenty power, grass take off in just a few feet half throttle.....but once in the air my tail started to get into an occilating wig wag motion and nose kept climbing as if i was tail heavy.set her down checked cg it was fine, slightly nose heavy.take off again only this time 1/4 throttle and she flew but rudder control was sensitive and squirly,so i made about a 200 ft lap slow flying her before deciding to give throttle.but my lap told me i had a prop issue if it flew at low speed, but when throttle increased plane was uncontrollale....so against my better judgement i went to half throttle and the tails death spiral began an nose started climbing.
result in a shady landing a few cart wheels and snaped a blade off the prop.
so leson learned,i aint 3d printing props.
cub is fine though.

In what way did u find it uncontrollable when at high throttle? .

at higher throttle the controls got very sensitive and the plane was all over the place.
ive deterimed it was the prop at fault causing uneven thrust(one blade creating more thrust than the other.
put on a new 8.25x4 prop and flew her for a few mins today just fine.

If the problem arises again I would suggest adding some wing struts with wires or a strut ..also try moving the control rod to the outer hole on the control horn and move rod to an inner horn on the servo arm .. how much expo r u using?

I am thinking the gyro effects of the hub on that prop could cause problems.??

possible
after it broke i noticed lots of air bubbles inside along the break.air bubbles means weakness and more flex.i was thinking the 1 blade would flex and produce less wind.
ill never know for sure though.

i agree
on the print file the guys states no need to balance due to printer extruding equal amounts, had a few vids showing it on a plane flying....ect.
but common sense shoulda kicked in,alwauys balance a prop.

built my flying buddy a cub he wanted ailerons.
he agreeded to print all the plans i need for free, but i had to build him a few planes.
i beefed up the wings tips by adding a doubler and landing gear area,he also wanted 5g servos that he already had.
waiting on pushrods for the tail,a prop and a battery.

I feel the same, its just extra grams added.
He noticed one of my wing tips had a few creases and asked to strengthen his up.

With only 2 servos, power pod and motor as pictured shes 370 grams.....that aint bad at all.
My cub without battery is 450 grams rtf.
So im aiming not to exceed 450-470 once i add the 2 tail servos and control rods, esc n rx.....and prop n adapter.

My wing doesn't look like your wing?? Where have I gone wrong???

I meant to tell you last post, you can protect the wing tips by putting a coat of Foamcure, hot glue, or epoxy on the edge of the foam, just the foam edge. Or ever a layer of tape on the
edges.
