FPV Flight Club - 3" Phuket and 5" PROton...

Hey, I thought I'd start a thread for those who use a Flight Club FPV Phuket or PROton

I was thinking this thread could be a place to be helpful and positive for those who want to share their pics or video's or get some help figuring out their configuration or which components to use or how to set them up...

Here are the links to the 3" Phuket and 5" PROton

Three Inch Quad Build : FlightClub Phuket

FlightClub Phuket : Three Inch Quad Build (42 min 28 sec)

FlightClub PROton | Ultralight Quad Fans Rejoice!

PROton Frame Assembly (12 min 49 sec)

I also posted some pictures of the components I used and how to wire them up including where to wire up the smart audio so you can adjust your PID's via the OSD

Cicada AIO F4 30A ESC
TBS Unify Pro Race HV SMA
FrSky XM+ 16 Ch Full Range SBUS receiver
FOXEER Arrow Micro v2 Black
California Quads 2205-2550kv Motor
HQ V1S 5x4.8x3 Prop
Lumenier AXII Stubby 5.8GHz Antenna RHCP

Here is the CLI code to get the DShot buzzer working

Code:
set beeper_dshot_beacon_tone = 3
hit enter
type save
hit enter
Big thanks to Mike at FPV Flight Club for all his hard work designing these great quads

Good luck with your builds and happy flying...

Love the looks of the little phuker frame. If I didn't just build a sparrow I would have gotten the Phuket. But heck I may still say Phuket and get that frame soon lol.

Yea, it's a handsome little quad and very durable at least for a new pilot like myself and just noticed they have DTF (Down To Fly) quads that are already dialed in and just need binding to radio...

Flight club has tuned it for the new HQ 3x4x3 prop which is very aggressive so if you change to a less aggressive props you won't have to worry about oscillations...

It is so easy to fly in acro...

Today I was given a PID setup for the Phuket with the the new HQ 3x4x3 props, which looks so cool, and it worked fantastic. In the D-term lowpass filter I was able to turn off gyro notch filter 1 & 2 and I think it's as close to a perfect configuration as possible at least for me. The motors do not get hot at all! I attached a pic of my PID's and my TPA is set at .35 with my TPA breakpoint at 1650. I have air mode permanently on and the anti-gravity and dynamic filter set.

$345 is a pretty good price for a high level bind and fly quad

Here is a video of me about 40 packs into FPV and loving it...

Making love to my quad... (4 min 7 sec)

Thanks for starting this thread and also for your input on Flightclub FPV. I was thrilled to hear I can have RSSI telemetry from my XM+ Rx in my Phuket.
I donít have a PROton but I will soon.
The Tokyo X was my first full build and I am a huge fan of Mikeís stuff. Flightclub FPV has come so far so fast!

Glad your here! I think once this thread gets going it will be a good place to ask and answer questions in a positive helpful way...

As soon as I get my PROton sorted out I'll post my setup and a video...

Thanks,

So I went to the FrSky website and they have 3 downloads available for the FrSky XM+ receiver:

FIRMWARE
UpdateTime Version Notes File Size Download
2017-03-28 170313 XM+FCC170313.frk: FCC MODE、full channels (ch1~ch16)
XM+FCC170313-RSSI8.frk: FCC MODE、ch8 output RSSI.

XM+FCC170313-RSSI16.frk: FCC MODE、ch16 output RSSI.

XM+LBT170313.frk:LBT MODE、full channels (ch1~ch16)
XM+LBT170313-RSSI8.frk: LBT MODE、ch8 output RSSI.
XM+LBT170313-RSSI16.frk: LBT MODE、ch16 output RSSI.

157KB DOWNLOAD
2016-12-25 161221 Fix the bug
Without/Within RSSI

98KB DOWNLOAD
2016-11-28 161118 161118.frk and 161118_EU.frk are XM+ Non-EU and EU FW.
161118-RSSI.frk and 161118_EU_RSSI.frk are XM+ Non-EU and EU FW with channel 16 outputs RSSI value (1000us~2000us). 97 KB DOWNLOAD

I'm guessing all I have to do is follow Mike's (FlightClubFPV) instructions and load the latest firmware? The 157kb file only? I don't know whether my Taranis X9D+ transmitter will use ch8 or 16 for RSSI but hopefully I don't have to do anything special other than flash the Rx.

Also maybe we should include all of Mike's designs? He started with the TokioX and X stretch and so that is where I started. I built the TokioX. Before that I had a couple of Vortex's but the TokioX flew so much better than my Vortex 250 that I'll never go back.

I used XM+FCC170313-RSSI8, it was the latest stable I think!?

It's FPV Flight Club so go for it...

I can add Tokio to the thread Title...

Meanwhile I am having the hardest time with the https://fpv-flightclub.com/frsky-xsrf4o-review/ receiver...

1. It's RSSI won't show in BF, the bar is there but it's not moving and I can see telemetry on my Q R7 taranis...
2. The current draw and capacity drawn in the setup BF tab are going crazy like it's not even armed and it say 30 amps and it's mahs are like massive and way past my 1300mah battery but the voltage is perfect in BF
3. What is also confusing is the FC has two bind/flash buttons and the one that most actually use to flash is bind and vice versa so I'm lost. I actually flew my PROton but I didn't put a cap on the spedix is30 ESC and so the video was almost unflyable but it flew nice with no osculations and I'm a beginner. It sucks not to see my RSSI and mah drawn on my OSD

Yeah, mAh consumption is a great OSD feature that I miss from my Vortex. But I have seen videos for older FC boards where you have to actually calibrate the mAh consumed to your quad, maybe this new FrSky FC is like that too?
Thanks.

Hi, yea there is no current sensor on that board plus with the RSSI also not working I'm just gonna grab an AIO cicada like is on my Phuket and also the cicada doesn't need a cap so no video noise

The xm+, foxeer micro v2 and TBS unify race seem to be working and my motor prop selection is good on both so once I get the cicada 30A AIO both my Phuket and PROton should be awesome...

Yea, I agree and to be honest had sims and people not made acro seem difficult I'd left angle mode into acro 2 flights into FPV not 10. I'm about 50 packs in and seem to have a knack for it but quads are so complicated mostly I'm just trying to get all the equipment and configurations right on and seems flying is the least difficullt aspect to FPV ...lol

Anyone want to post pics of your FPV Flight Club builds or share anything just go for it

Hi, so I messed up posting my PIDs for my Phuket with 1408 motors and HQ 3x4x3 props so I deleted the picture of the pids and when I get the PIDs that worked great I'll post them again...

The PiDs I posted we're the one's in the Phuket video build by fpv flight club which we're the one's for the gemfan 5052 props...
