E-flite F-27 Evolution

The F-27 Evolution builds on the original Stryker with a number of improvements. Let's take a quick look at version 2 of this popular airframe from E-flite.

The Stryker Reborn

E-flite has brought back one of hobbyist's favorites with the new F-27 Evolution. Designed with speeds over 100mph in mind, the new Evolution sports a powerful 10-sized brushless outrunner and 40A ESC installed. On 4s, the F-27 Evolution can hit speeds around 105mph on a 4s 1800 - 2200mAh, and up to 85mph on a 3s 2200 - 2500mAH Lipo.

The F-27 Evolution is a 3-piece airframe with wings that detach quickly for storage and transportation. It has a 37.1 in (943mm) wingspan and a wing area of 373 sq in (24.1 sq dm). You have the option to purchase the Evolution as a BNF Basic that includes a Spektrum AR636A receiver with SAFE and AS3X, or in PNP version that requires a suitable receiver. An optional FPV nose is available that includes a camera and VTx, for around $44. The F-27 Evolution retails for $179.99 in BNF and should be available for shipping in late January.

About time!

Any chance we can get the specs for the integrated fpv equipment in that optional nose? I'm kind of curious to know.

An empty FPV nose cone would be nice this way I can use my own gear. Still, stoked about this release, I have a soft spot for Strykers.

Looks like they made lots of good changes!
Much improved hatch design, more wingspan, bigger 3S & 4S compatible power.

the first one with the updated motor was the best, the q was cool, but way to heavy, and spare parts cost to much, i still have the org one and fly it all the time, i also have the Q and its fun, but i still prefer the org one , looking forword to adding this to my hanger

I've loved them all and had at least two of each version up to the Scimitar- talk about a heavy dog, but it was a really fun and entertaining flyer in the air.

I'm going FPV on this one. I hope I can limit myself to one.

Reached out to a tech on Horizon Hobby's site today, asking them if the company was planning on releasing a 'rudder upgrade kit'. Their response: no word yet

This plane looks like so much fun! So happy Horizon brought back the Stryker. With that AR636A, the plane must feel so dialed-in with stabilization on. Plus it has wings leveling capability. And out of the box stock 4-cell capability
