Hobbico: Torqmaster-Mini

I’m considering this 3.6lb.,12V/4.5A battery, w/matching A/C over-night trickle charger, so I can use this to power my 1S Li-Po quad port charger, & charge my Li-Po’s @my site, w/o having to use my car batt. My question is; Is there a special ammeter I need for this mini-battery, to check the voltage, or will ANY ammeter do? I’ll consider whatever you guy’s recommend, because you’ve all helped me before.

Even the free Harbor Freight digital volt meter will be fine for what you are doing.

Amp meaters measure amps but you need a simple volt meter.

Unless you are charging UM cells that battery won't charge many packs.

What size and how many lipos do you need to charge at the field ? Like Rampman said, you'd only be able to charge a few very small batteries with that.
I'd highly recommend a 4s lipo to power your charger, sized according to your needs.

Thanks, Rampman. Yes, 1S cells. It’s a quad-port Charger for 1S Cells (Lectron Pro 3.7V180/220 mAh), fixed @0.3A per port (Thunder Power-TP103CQ).

Thanks, Photolad61. They’re 1S, 3.7V, 180/220 mAH ”Lectron Pros”. Charger’s a Thunder Power TP103CQ 1S Quad-Port Charger, fixed @0.3A per port. Considering the HiTec Micro X4 in the future, w/adjustable charge current dials for each port. Awaiting an AOKoda AOK-041 V-meter from Amazon.com. Much more precise than relying on that OLD “Champ” DC field charger’s little red light to blink, to determine how much soup I’m plugging into my Rx. bricks.
