My latest project

Thought I would share my latest build.

I combined elements from three different designs, then added my own twist to things.

The wing ribs are from Platt's Duellist MKII plan. I like the look of swept wings, so that is what I did. Fully sheeted structure with individual aileron servos. Fixed gear tail dragger.

Stab is from the Atlanta plan. Fully sheeted with anheadral and sweep to my liking. One servo with split fork set up.

Fin and rudder are sheeted stick structure, my drawing. One servo, one pushrod. Tailwheel in a Dubro 1/2 hinge mounted to fuse.

The fuse is somewhat based on the Skyrider from FM plans.

Wingspan is 67", fuse length is 67", power is a Super Tigre S.75 on a Mac's header and pipe.

It is about 3/4 covered at this time. I will post some shots when I am done.

Here are a few shots to look at.

Vince,

The plane in primer is a AK Models SU 27 Flanker. The kit is no longer made. It has been sitting like that, in prime, since 2010.
I have to cut into it to change the air retract fill valve. I made the installation a little more permanent than I should have.
I am thinking I might tackle that after I finish this no name plane.

Thanks, Tony

Very sleek looking. Love those bubbles on top of the cowl.

The bubbles are not my idea. I saw a picture of a Durafly racer that had them and thought they were neat. They look like they could
be made for clearance of V12 cylinder heads or some such monster racing engine.

That is awesome! Thirty years from now it could be under another 'what is it" airplane in some forums somewhere. Put the identity of the airplane inside it somewhere. It's just a thought that went through my head when I saw it.
