u glider for thermaling-my view

browsing i found this: https://www.banggood.com/Unique-Mode...r_warehouse=CN
the proportions look great: longish wing, characteristic of high performance gliders looks promising, and long fuselage makes it look elegant. besides, the style is great too. long fuselage is not the trend in gliders, but long tail moment speaks stability, and long nose provides room for the things we need to put inside-and to balance too.
i finished it and am waiting for weather to let me fly it, although where i live means 4 months, so in the meantime i will talk about whatever regarding it.
>>>please check updates at the end<<<
there are 2 threads:

and this: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=557269

so you can learn about the experience of some.
if you browse at the links you will see that just as there are comments about how good the plane is, there are also problems, like poor quality parts, some size does not match (screws to hold the wing), no availability of spare parts, lack of instructions (the so-called 'manual' is a joke), too much drag at the aileron pushrods, and so on... new products are subject to iniciation, and it is not until feedback may help suppliers to correct them, but even with these problems, the plane has a lot on its favor, so will explore the posibilities...
dec 30/2017: ailerons: yes or no?
now that i have the plane i was able to check dihedral: 4" (10 cm) each tip. it seems a lot for a plane with ailerons. seems more for rudder instead.
anyway, as i already glued the 2 halves together, and have ailerons, will try and see how it behaves.
perhaps the designer was considering that the builder had the choice
nevertheless, i found some data on the issue of ailerons and dihedral that some may find interesting. here is a paragraph:
"The slight aileron deflection required to sustain this steady turn depends on the amount of sideslip and the dihedral angle (zero aileron deflection is shown). With little or no dihedral, some opposite aileron must be held to maintain the bank angle and prevent rolling into the turn. With generous dihedral, some rolling moment is already provided by the sideslip/dihedral combination (just like in a poly glider), and the required held aileron deflection may be either into or out of the turn. "
it makes it clear that to use ailerons, a plane has to have less dihedral than 1 without.
and also it tells this about long tail moment like this plane:
"DLGs have unusually long tail arms relative to their turning radius, and hence require considerable rudder input in steady turns."
so we can expect more rudder throw.
and here is the whole article: http://www.charlesriverrc.org/articl...rmalFlying.htm
>>>june 18 2018: eventually i have been able to do some tests. the most important thing is the performance: it flies great! stable, stays long in the air, handles very well. slow flying, that makes landing easy. about the ailerons, for all that i have seen are not necessary. this, together with having the servos at the tail, makes for the simplest instal. just running the wires on the surface of the boom and inserting 5 grams servos, 1 at the stabilizer, and the other at the fin, and with a 3x610 lipo at the nose, the plane balances at 38 mm: about 30%, as recommended at the instructions. all up weight is 365 grams. i may be able to post pictures.
>>>about visibility, i was having a hard time seeing it: is so tiny and climbs so high! so i painted the underside of the wing black, and now is way better! strongly recommend doing this! <<<
