Help!

9mm EPP

Hey,

Dumb question I know, but how thick is 9mm EPP? I know some materials are nominally sized and I don't have any yet to measure. I'm designing my first EPP plane and I'm going to laser cut it, so i'm interested in getting it as close as possible. Hopefully it's simply 9mm

TIA

Not a dumb question, 2 x 4 lumber has not been 2" x 4" for a long time.
Call whoever you intend to buy it from and ask them for the actual measurement and possibly a small sample.

Exactly what I was thinking about a 2" x 4". 1/8" Birch ply is .125, but 1/8" lite ply is .011! I've got a note into my supplier but they are taking some time off for the holidays which is understandable. Thanks for the reply though, I appreciate it!

I know RC Foam is usually accurate in their thickness measurements. I did receive a few that were 8mm but work okay for me. Getting a sample is a good idea.

Yeah 1mm is enough to cause fit problems, I'd like to be correct.

Agreed. Flying Foam is another good supplier. EPP is getting harder to come by, depron is almost non-existence.

Must be made somewhere, still buy it here but obviously a sheet of EPP shipped over 6000 kms would make for an expensive model.
