Having built many bipes over the years, I can say that covering around cabanes is always a tough (and daunting) task! Nice work Jas...

I made a mistake with the rudder pull cable exits in the fuselage. The locations where they exit were open bays which I covered over. So there was no reinforcement structure for the covering in this area. For days Iíve tossed around ideas on how to make a fix. I finally landed on fixing it from the inside out. I cut two 1/4 inch balsa sheets fitted into the bays and drilled exit holes in them for the cables. I first cut a paper test piece and stuck my arm into the fuse from the wing saddle to test it. Then I cut the two wood pieces, drilled and covered the exit holes, and test fit. Sanding to fit and then applied wood glue with my finger.

Pieces to be added.

When the glue dries Iíll cut the exit hole in the covering.

Great work! Decided on a motor and do you already have the fiberglass bits?

I have plans for the larger OK Pilot Christen Eagle and this makes me want to get working on it!

Hi slidewaysgts,

Thank you!

For the engine I have not decided yet, but am leaning toward a 25cc gas motor. I need to weigh the model to verify that would work. Iíve been looking around for specs of other Christen Eagles. What size is your CE? What engine would it use?

Ironically the first purchase for this model was the fiberglass parts and canopy. Those parts are from fiberglass specialties. I am starting to trim the canopy and will mount the landing gear fairings soon. I need to find a good way to mount the cowl. Any suggestions?

The one I have plans for would be a 40cc-50cc size. Its 1/3.7 scale

The Great Planes large version mounts the cowl like below which gives a more scale look.
