JJRC JJPRO X3 HAX brushless gps quad

To keep all posts regarding the JJRC JJPRO X3 HAX in one place and not pollute the Eachine EX1 thread, here's the HAX's own thread. Still awaiting the arrival of my own X3 copy.

The GoolRC Binge 1 seems to be the red version of the X3 HAX from Tomtop

Kazakhstan? Kinda looks like it's taking the scenic route.

The tracking-code I got for mine doesn't give me anything, not on Gearbests own website, nor on 17track Got word it's on its way, and that's all I know.

my experiences

Hello,
I've had a JJRC JJPRO X3 for two and a half weeks now. At first it was important for me to rebuild the transmitter in mode 4 at full throttle rear. Since cables had to be extended, and soldered to the potentiometers. Until then everything, especially left right, front back fit passed some time. A big problem then was to bind the transmitter and receiver. I still do not know how I did it, at least it happened all at once. Meanwhile, I have a second transmitter for my son who flies normal Mode 2, but I have not been able to tie this second transmitter. At least the drone flies perfectly for two weeks with the first transmitter. With little wind the GPS keeps the X3 very stable in the air, it comes back when the battery is empty and it is also a very good drone in manual mode. In strong winds, the GPS then very quickly reaches its limits, and the drone is driven off, trying to take the position again, which does not succeed. After some time, the trajectory then goes into large circles, which they would always fly so on. If I intervene, for example, with a short full throttle upwards, then the position stops immediately, until the next stronger gust of wind. Less was nice that the green LED of the rear motor gondolas were very quickly broken, both, clearly very poor quality. I have replaced them with new ones, since then it is flawless. It is also difficult to calibrate the compass when the LEDs are not on.

The biggest problem child is the camera! Although I have been able to eliminate this wobble-pudding effect thanks to this forum, but with my phone Galaxy S7 is still not. Is there no solution? I would have liked to use the transfer to the mobile phone. The wobble I have solved with a thin double-sided tape around the lens body, where you can also align the whole so that the camera does not hang to the side.
But from the fly, I am quite satisfied. What else do you want for 130 ?

Same , mine is on its long journey via Yodels new "lets go visit the moon" service, however , the reviews of this introductory aerial photography /gps quad so far have been very depressing with GPS somewhat erratic and the video image laying in the "extreme budget Ebay action cam" realm.
Lets hope "fixes" are relatively quick and painless.

My thoughts on it. This brushless motor GPS quadcopter can easily fly out past 300 meters, and includes 1080p Full HD digital FPV video (although it appears to be interpolated from lower resolution). Its GPS system seems to be its weakest link, and can really use some upgrade Also the Eachine EX1 seems to be a rebranded version of this.

Pros
- D1806 2300KV brushless motors quadcopter with GPS.
- GPS position hold, altitude hold, automatic takeoff, landing, headless mode.
- 1080p HD camera records to microSD card on camera, and on your phone via 5G WiFi.
- 1080p digital FPV video viewed and recorded to you phone via its camera and monitor.
- Flight parameters (altitude, distance, battery power, satellite reception) telemetry are all displayed on the LCD of the controller.
- Includes an automatic geofence setting for newer fliers of 300 meters range and 100 meters height restriction. Quadcopter will automatically return to home if these paramaters are exceeded in flight. Geofence can be easily turned off if not desired.
- Returns to home when selected, when exceeding the geofence, and automatically when flown out of range, or on low battery.
- 7.4V 2000mah battery gives over 12 minutes flight time. Battery is charged via micro USB charging cable (no special charger required).

Cons
- Requires 802.11ac 5G WiFi to use app. Not everyone has a phone with this capability. Verify first that your phone is 802.11ac WiFi capable before purchasing.
- As of 12/15/2017, the Google Play version of the JJRC app has not yet been updated for this drone. Instead download the updated Android version of this app from its secondary China app site here . The app is based on the JJRC toy WiFi FPV app, and only presents FPV video and recording status (no telemetry info is displayed via the app).
- The GPS can take minutes to lock on. The GPS position hold can wander greatly.
- Toilet bowl effect (TBE) wobble increased as the flight progresses. Compass calibration's to correct can also take a long time to complete.
- Could not switch it back to GPS mode in flight after flying in altitude hold mode. Could be disastrous for beginner pilots.

and here is its flight demonstration

I'm still awaiting the arrival of my X3 (finally contacted GB about it as I get weird whereabouts using tracking-sites) but given all the problems people seem to have with the X3 and the Eachine EX1, I don't hold my breath regarding its performance when I get it.
