Which PJS to get for AP SS?

I am planning on upgrading the motor for my newly created Slow Stick for AP.
It came with a 300 motor, so that will definitely be a plus. However, I am wondering what you people recommend as the best PJS to get. I see that they have 800, 1000 even 1500! Some say INVERT.

the 800 is the only choice by far for a good mix of power/run time on 3s lipos.
make sure you get a 25amp ESC minimum though eg. CC Phoenix 25

you can run 10x47, 11x47 and 11X7 props well on this combo

more than enough power for an SS AP rig (up to 40oz)

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. The CC Phoenix is a programmable ESC? I take it I would need a programmable ESC for the lipo cut off point?

I'm using PJS 1000 together with 2 lipos 2000 mAh 15 C. Almost the same output like 800 + 3 lipos, but you save weight.

BUBIK - What prop do you use and how many amps do you pull WOT? Also what's the AUW of your SS?

The Cracker Barrel has an 800 on it and it goes almost vertical. With the 1000 do you really need to save weight?

But if I was to use NiMH, would you still recommend the 800 or the 1000?

I see no reason to use the PJS 1000 on a SS. The 800 is more efficient, giving you plenty of thrust while burning fewer amps.

If you are intending on using NiMH cells, use BIG ones to supply the 1000 with enough amps.

I use APC 11x4,7 slow-fly, which is recommended by PJS. I've never measured amps, but it shouldn't be more than 20A. I don't use it on SS, i built my own plane, using wing from multiplex's movie star.

OK all this talk about it has just about persuaded me, I'm about maxed out on my AXI 2212/26 already at around 12 amp draw... - can anyone let me know of a good retailer for the PJS 800. I'm in the UK, so would need a retailer in UK or an exporter.

Thanks,

Paul
