Building a Bowman Snipe look a like

When first starting in steam boats i purchased a vintage SEL marine steam engine in new old stock condition. I serarched and found the type of boats they were used in and printed a picture of a Bowman "Snipe" One weekend i measured the pictures and figured the scale based on length of 23" and width of 4-1/2". Drew the parts on cardboard and taped together my copy of the Snipe. That was 3 years ago and it has been sitting on the shelf and moved multiple times. I recently located an original Snipe boiler and firebox and decided it was time to get one built.
Here are the results of the last 2 weeks work on a Snipe look a like. These boats were popular from the 1930's thru the early 50's.

Ed - One week, wow!

I like the idea of building cardboard prototypes. I'll bet that avoids a lot of potential problems.

Hi Tom, Remember that I am in week six recovering from total replacement of left knee ,so that gives me time to catch up on projects that have been piling up. Cardboard prototypes do save on wasted materials and allow for easy adjustments . I work for a high performance luxury boat company that prototypes our own product and learned that process at work. Will be posting progress from this past week soon. Ed

Week 2 "Snipe look a like"

Here is progress on "Snipe look a like" from last week. Things slowed down a bit this week. Having a bit of trouble with recovery of left knee replacement. The results were good for what was done though. Completed the filling ,sanding and painting of the Snipe copy. Needs a servo and receiver and it's ready to run!
