Recently i modded an old brushless 20A ESC into a brushed ESC for my boat. Needs firmware reflash, see here:

Normally one motor needs 2 esc drivers, dual motors need 4 esc drivers.
A BL ESC has 3 drivers. Cheating a little this is enough to control 2 motors. One sub $10 esc would be enough for a tank.

The restriction is this esc can not turn one motor forward and one backwards. It can do both forward with different speed or both backwards with different speed, or one track running and the other stopped.

Is thre any intrest for this? Would someone use it?

according to you op a single brushed motor needs 2 drivers..so 2 have to have 4 .. unless your info is off?..i have 5 tanks..from a abramas M1 to a 2 track tank killer.. all my treaded rc have esc on each tank as i want my tanks to turn..

A fwd/rev esc has 2 drivers, one for each wire. Called a H bridge.

This thing has 2 H-bridges, one for each motor:

HC12 on T300 (0 min 21 sec)

One BL esc modded to brushed would be able to do this, except the "in place" turn at the end where one track goes fwd, the other rev.
